Punjab Reorganisation Act, 1966 Section 65

Title: Power of Central Government to Order Allocation or Adjustment in Certain Cases

Where, by virtue of any of the provisions of this Part, any of the successor States becomes entitled to any property or obtains any benefits or becomes subject to any liability, and the Central Government is of opinion, on a reference made within a period of three years from the appointed day by any State that it is just and equitable that that property or those benefits should be transferred to, or shared with, one or more of the other successor States, or that a contribution towards that liability should be made by one of more of the other successor States, the said property or benefits shall be allocated in such manner, or the other successor State or States shall make to the State primarily subject to the liability such contribution in respect thereof, as the Central Government may, after consultation with State Governments concerned by order determine.

Army Act, 1950 Section 65

Title: Attempt

State: Central

Year: 1950

Any person subject to this Act who attempts to commit any of the offences specified in sections 34 to 64 inclusive and in such attempt does any act towards the commission of the offence, shall, on conviction by court-martial, where no express provision is made by this Act for the punishment of such attempt, be liable, if the offence attempted to be committed is punishable with death, to suffer imprisonment for a term which may extend to fourteen years or such less punishment as is in this Act mentioned; and if the offence attempted to be committed is punishable with imprisonment, to suffer imprisonment for a term which may extend to one-half of the longest term provided for that offence or such less punishment as is in this Act mentioned.

Provincial Insolvency Act, 1920 Section 65

Title: No Suit for Dividend

No suit for a dividend shall lie against the receiver; but where the receiver refuses to pay any dividend, the Court may, on the application of any creditor who is entered in the schedule, order him to pay it, and also to pay out of his own money interest thereon for the time that it is withheld, and the costs of the application.

Title: Pay and Allowances of Prisoner of War During Inquiry into His Conduct

Where the conduct of any person subject to this Act when being taken prisoner by, or while in the hands of, the enemy, is to be inquired into under this Act or any other law, the Director-General or any officer authorised by him may order that the whole or any part of the pay and allowances of such person shall be withheld pending the result of such enquiry.

Delhi Rent Act, 1995 Section 65

Title: Decision to Be by Majority

The decision of a Bench consisting of more than one Member on any point shall, where there is a majority, be according to the opinion of the majority, and where there is no majority and the Members are equally divided in their opinion, they shall draw up a statement of the case setting forth the point or points on which they differ and make a reference to the Chairman, and on receipt of such reference, the Chairman may arrange for the hearing of such point or points by one or more of the other Members (including, if he did not preside over such Bench, himself) and such point or points shall be decided according to the opinion by the majority of the Members who have heard the case, including those who had first heard it.

Presidency Small Cause Courts Act, 1882 Section 65

Title: Sale.application of Proceeds

In default of any such order to the contrary, the distrained property shall be sold on the day mentioned in such notice, and the said bailiffs shall, on realizing the proceeds, pay over the amount thereof to the Registrar of the Small Cause Court; and such amount shall be applied first in payment of the costs of the said distress and then in satisfaction of the debt; and the surplus, if any, shall be returned to the debtor: Provided that the debtor may direct that the sale shall take place in any other manner, first giving security for any extra costs thereby occasioned.

Manipur Municipalities Act, 1994 Section 65

Title: Transfer of Private Roads, Etc., to Nagar Panchayat or Council

State: Central

Year: 1994

(1) The Nagar Panchayat or the Council at a meeting may agree with the person in whom the property in any road, bridge, tank, ghat, well, channel, or drain, vests to take over the property therein or the control thereof, and after such agreement may declare by notice in writing put up thereon or near thereto that such roads, bridge, tank, ghat, well, channel or drain has been transferred to the Nagar Panchayat or the Council, as the case may be. (2) On completion of the transfer, the property shall vest in the Nagar Panchayat or the Council, as the case may be, and shall thenceforth be repaired and maintained out of the municipal fund.
