Title: Letters of Administration Not Necessary in Respect of Small Estates Administered by Administrator-general in Accordance with Certain Acts

It shall not be necessary for the Administrator-General to take out letters of administration of the estate of any deceased person which is being administered by him in accordance with the provisions of the Army and Air Force (Disposal of Private Property) Act, 1950 (40 of 1950), or the Navy Act, 1957 (62 of 1957), if the value of such estate does not, on the date when such administration is committed to him, exceed rupees two thousand, but he shall have the same power in regard to such estate as he would have had if letters of administration had been granted to him.

.....juvenile homes, observation homes or after care organisations and such other officers as it may deem necessary for carrying out the purposes of this Act. (2) It shall be the duty of the probation officer -- (a) to inquire, in accordance with the direction of a competent authority, into the antecedents and family history of any juvenile accused of an offence, with a view to assist the authority in making the inquiry; (b) to visit neglected and delinquent juveniles at such intervals as the probation officer may think fit; (c) to report to the competent authority as to the behaviour of any neglected or delinquent juvenile; (d) to advise and assist neglected or delinquent juveniles and, if necessary, endeavour to find them suitable employment; (e) where a neglected or delinquent juvenile is placed under the care of any person or institution on certain conditions, to see whether such conditions are being complied with; and (f) to perform such other duties as may be prescribed. (3) Any officer empowered in this behalf by the State Government may enter any special home, juvenile home, observation home or after-care organisation and make a complete inspection thereof in.....

Where during the pendency of the proceedings for the winding up of a chit, the foreman is adjudicated an insolvent, or where the foreman is a firm, all the partners or all the partners except one thereof are adjudicated insolvents, or where the foreman is a company, the company has been ordered to be wound up by the court, the winding-up proceeding under this Chapter shall cease and the distribution of the chit assets shall, subject to the provisions of sections 43 and 52, be made by the insolvency court or the court winding up the company, as the case may be.

When any {Subs. by the A.O.1950, for " Native ".} [Indian] Christian about to be married gives a notice of marriage, or applies for a certificate from a Marriage are Registrar, such Marriage Registrar shall ascertain whether the said {Subs. by the A.O.1950, for " Native ".} [Indian] Christian understands the English language, and, if he does not, the Marriage Registrar shall translate, or cause to be translated, such notice or certificate, or both of them, as the case may be, to such {Subs. by the A.O.1950, for " Native ".}[Indian] Christian into a language which he understands ; or the Marriage Registrar shall otherwise ascertain whether the {Subs. by the A.O.1950, for " Native ".} [Indian] Christian is cognizant of the purport and effect of the said notice and certificate.

Title: Property Which May Be Seized

In pursuance of the warrant aforesaid the bailiff shall seize the movable property found in or upon the house or premises mentioned in the warrant and belonging to the person from whom the rent is claimed (hereinafter called the debtor), or such part thereof as may, in the bailiff's judgment, be sufficient to cover the amount of the said rent, together with the costs of the said distress: Provided that the bailiff shall not seize (a) things in actual use; or (b) tools and implements not in use, where there is other movable property in or upon the house or premises sufficient to cover such amount and costs; or (c) the debtor's necessary wearing apparel; or (d) goods in the custody of the law.

(3) When neither the Chairperson nor the Vice-Chairperson of Nagar Panchayat or of a Council, as the case may be, is a member of a committee, the Chairperson of such committee shall be nominated by the Chairperson of the Nagar Panchayat or of the Council, as the case may be.

(1) An insured person and (where such medical benefit is extended to his family) his family shall be entitled to receive medical benefit only of such kind and on such scale as may be provided by the State Government or by the Corporation, and an insured person or, where such medical benefit is extended to his family, his family shall not have a right to claim any medical treatment except such as is provided by the dispensary, hospital, clinic or other institution to which he or his family is allotted, or as may be provided by the regulations. (2) Nothing in this Act shall entitle an insured person and (where such medical benefit is extended to his family) his family to claim reimbursement from the Corporation of any expenses incurred in respect of any medical treatment, except as may be provided by the regulations.

Title: Amendment to Certain Enactments

(1) The enactments specified in the Second Schedule- (a) shall, together with all rules, notifications and orders made or issued there under, extend to and come into force in the Union territories of Goa, Daman and Diu, and Pondicherry; and (b) shall be subject to the amendments mentioned in the fourth column of the said Schedule. (2) All things done, and all steps taken, before the commencement of this Act in connection with the preparation or revision of electoral rolls for the purpose of elections to the House of the People from the Union territories of Goa, Daman and Diu, and Pondicherry, and to the Legislative Assemblies of those Union territories shall, in so far as they are in conformity with the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1950-, as amended by this Act, be deemed to have been done in accordance with law.
