Title: Seduction or Outrage of Modesty

Year: 1948
Whoever seduces or indulges in immoral behaviour with a girl under the age of eighteen years shall, on conviction be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees or with both. NOTES The word "Seduces" would mean to lead astray in conduct a girl or to draw away a girl from the right course of action. It will also include inducement to indulge in immoral behaviour.--Narasappa v. State of Maharashtra, 1973 Mah. L. J. 381. Similarly in the case of Abdul R. Pathan v. State of Maharashtra, 1983 (1) Bom. C. R. 489. It was held that the prosecution has failed to prove who outraged the modesty of a girl. The charge under section 57 of the Bombay Children Act also must be held to be not proved beyond all reasonable doubts.

Title: Liberty to Parties to Marry Again

Liberty to parties to marry again Where a decree for dissolution or nullity of marriage has been passed and either the time for appeal has expired without an appeal having been presented to any court including the Supreme Court or an appeal has been presented but has been dismissed and the decree or dismissal has become final, it shall be lawful for either party to the marriage to marry again.".] STATE AMENDMENT 2 Uttar Pradesh: For the existing section, the following section shall be substituted: "57. Liberties to parties to marry again.--When six months after the date of any decree absolute dissolving a marriage have expired, and no appeal has been presented against such decree, or when any such appeal has been dismissed, or when in the result of any such appeal any marriage is declared to be dissolved, but not sooner, it shall be lawful for the respective parties to the marriage to marry again, as if the prior marriage had been dissolved by death." ______________________ 1. .....juvenile homes, observation homes or after care organisations and such other officers as it may deem necessary for carrying out the purposes of this Act. (2) It shall be the duty of the probation officer -- (a) to inquire, in accordance with the direction of a competent authority, into the antecedents and family history of any juvenile accused of an offence, with a view to assist the authority in making the inquiry; (b) to visit neglected and delinquent juveniles at such intervals as the probation officer may think fit; (c) to report to the competent authority as to the behaviour of any neglected or delinquent juvenile; (d) to advise and assist neglected or delinquent juveniles and, if necessary, endeavour to find them suitable employment; (e) where a neglected or delinquent juvenile is placed under the care of any person or institution on certain conditions, to see whether such conditions are being complied with; and (f) to perform such other duties as may be prescribed. (3) Any officer empowered in this behalf by the State Government may enter any special home, juvenile home, observation home or after-care organisation and make a complete inspection thereof in.....

Where during the pendency of the proceedings for the winding up of a chit, the foreman is adjudicated an insolvent, or where the foreman is a firm, all the partners or all the partners except one thereof are adjudicated insolvents, or where the foreman is a company, the company has been ordered to be wound up by the court, the winding-up proceeding under this Chapter shall cease and the distribution of the chit assets shall, subject to the provisions of sections 43 and 52, be made by the insolvency court or the court winding up the company, as the case may be.

When any {Subs. by the A.O.1950, for " Native ".} [Indian] Christian about to be married gives a notice of marriage, or applies for a certificate from a Marriage are Registrar, such Marriage Registrar shall ascertain whether the said {Subs. by the A.O.1950, for " Native ".} [Indian] Christian understands the English language, and, if he does not, the Marriage Registrar shall translate, or cause to be translated, such notice or certificate, or both of them, as the case may be, to such {Subs. by the A.O.1950, for " Native ".}[Indian] Christian into a language which he understands ; or the Marriage Registrar shall otherwise ascertain whether the {Subs. by the A.O.1950, for " Native ".} [Indian] Christian is cognizant of the purport and effect of the said notice and certificate.
