Factories Act, 1948 Section 50

Title: Power to Make Rules to Supplement This Chapter

The State Government may make rules-- (a) exempting, subject to compliance with such alternative arrangements for the welfare of workers as may be prescribed, any factory or class or description of factories from compliance with any of the provisions of this Chapter; (b) requiring in any factory or class or description of factories that representatives of the workers employed in the factory shall be associated with the management of the welfare arrangements of the workers.

Title: Penalty for Being Drunk While in Charge of Child, Etc.

If any person is found drunk in any public street or other public place, whether a building or not, while having the charge of a child, and if such person is incapable by reason of his drunkenness of taking due care of the child, such person shall, on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend to two hundred rupees.

Damodar Valley Corporation Act,1948 Section 50

Title: Compulsory Acquisition of Land for the Corporation

State: Central

Any land required by the Corporation for carrying out its functions under this Act shall be deemed to be needed for a public purpose and such land shall be acquired for the Corporation as if the provisions of Part VII of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 were applicable to it and the Corporation were a company within the meaning of clause (e) of section 3 of the said Act.

Title: Board Not to Supply Electricity in Certain Circumstances

Nothing contained in sections 34, 35 and 36 shall apply in any case where under section 19, it is not permissible for the Board to supply electricity directly to a licensee owning a generating station; and nothing in sections 46, 47 and 49 shall empower the Board to supply electricity directly to any licensee or person to whom it is not otherwise entitled so to supply electricity.

Dentists Act, 1948 Section 50

Title: Failure to Surrender Certificate of Registration

If any person whose name has been removed from a register fails without sufficient cause forthwith to surrender his certificate of registration1[or certificate of renewal, or both] he shall be punishable with fine which may extend to fifty rupees per month of such failure and in the case of a continuing offence with an additional fine which may extend to two rupees per day after the first day during which the offence continues. ________________________ 1. Foreigners Order, 1948 Section 5

Title: Power to Grant Permission to Depart from India

.....in India to answer a criminal charge; (c) the foreigner's departure will prejudice the relations of the Central Government with a foreign power; (d) the departure of the foreigner has been prohibited under an order issued by a competent authority. (3) (a) Notwithstanding anything contained in the above sub--paragraphs, a civil authority may prohibit the departure of a foreigner where it is satisfied that such departure would not be conducive to the public interest; (b) Whenever a civil authority issues an order under clause (a), it shall report the matter forthwith to the Central Government which may cancel or modify the order in such manner as it thinks fit. ________________________ 1. Foreigners Order, 1948 Section 4

Title: Landing of Seamen

State: Central

(1) No seaman or member of the crew of an aircraft, being a foreigner, shall land in India without a special permit from the Superintendent of Police or any other Police Officer not below the rank of a Sub--Inspector or Sargent. (2) No such permit shall be granted unless the owners or agents of the vessel or aircraft have undertaken either generally in respect of all members of the crew of vessels or aircraft belonging to or managed by them or in an individual case the responsibility for the maintenance of such seaman or member of the crew during his residence in India and for the expenses of his departure from India. (3) For the purpose of this paragraph "seaman" has the meaning assigned to it in the Registration of Foreigners Rules, 19391 . (4) The provisions of this paragraph are in addition to, and not in derogation of, the provisions of paragraph 3. ________________________ 1. Now "The Registration of Foreigners Rules, 1992".
