Section Text

If any person whose name has been removed from a register fails without sufficient cause forthwith to surrender his certificate of registration1[or certificate of renewal, or both] he shall be punishable with fine which may extend to fifty rupees per month of such failure and in the case of a continuing offence with an additional fine which may extend to two rupees per day after the first day during which the offence continues.
