Government of India Act, 1858 [Repealed] Section 24

Title: Orders, Etc., to Be Open to the Perusal of Members of Council, Who May Record their Opinions

Year: 1858

Every Order or Communication proposed to be sent to India, and every Order proposed to be made in the United Kingdom by the Secretary of State, under this Act, shall, unless the same has been submitted to a Meeting of the Council, be placed in the Council Room for the Perusal of all Members of the Council during Seven Days before the sending or making thereof, except in the Cases, herein-after provided; and it shall be lawful for any Member of the Council to record in a Minute Book, to be kept for that Purpose, his Opinion with respect to each such Order or Communication, and a Copy of every Opinion so recorded shall be sent forthwith to the Secretary of State.

Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 Section 24

Title: Penalty for Falsely Claiming to Be a Member, Etc.

Any person who,-- (i) not being a member of the Institute.-- (a) represents that he is a member of the Institute; or (b) uses the designation Chartered Accountant, or (ii) being a member of the Institute, but not having a certificate of practice, represents that he is in practice, or practices as a chartered accountants, shall be punishable on first conviction with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, and on any subsequent conviction with imprisonment which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees, or with both.

Title: Recognition of Medical Qualifications Granted Byinstitute

Notwithstanding anything contained in the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956(102 of 1956) the Dentist Act, 1948(16 of 1948), the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947(48 of 1947), the medical degrees and diplomas, dental degrees and nursing degrees granted by the Institute under this Act shall be recognised medical qualifications for the purposes of the Acts aforesaid and shall be deemed to be included in the Schedules to the respective Acts.

If the Central Government considers it necessary or expedient so to do for avoiding any hardship or anomaly or removing any difficulty that may arise as a result of the application of this Act to the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Goa, Daman and Diu and Pondicherry, the Central Government may, by general or special order, make an exemption, reduction in rate or other modification in respect of surtax in favour of any class of assessees or in regard to the whole or any part of the chargeable profits of any class of assessees.

Tripura University Act 2006 Section 24

Title: The Academic Council

(1) The Academic Council shall be the principal academic body of the University and shall, subject to the provisions of this Act, the Statutes and the Ordinances, coordinate and exercise general supervision over the academic policies of the University. (2) The constitution of the Academic Council, the term of office of its members and its powers and functions shall be prescribed by the Statutes: Provided that such number of members as may be prescribed by the Statutes shall be from among the elected members of the Court who are teachers of the University.
