Indian Tolls Act, 1888 Section 1

Title: Enforcement of Acts Viii of 1851 and Xv of 1864 in the Punjab

State: Central

Year: 1888

Acts VIII of 1851 and XV of 1864 shall be deemed to be in force throughout the territories now administered by the Lieutenant Governor of the Punjab, and from the twenty-first day of August, 1857, and the twenty-fourth day of March, 1864, respectively, to have been in force in the territories for the time being administered as part of the Punjab { Added by the Adaptation of Laws (No 2) Order 1956.}[as it existed immediately before the 1st November 1956].

Police Act, 1888 Section 2

Title: Constitution of Police Forces for Special Purposes

State: Central

.....of the said police force shall have, within every part of any State of which any part is included in the said district, the powers, duties, privileges and liabilities which, as police officers, they have in their own State. (3) Any member of the said police force whom the Central Government shall generally or specially empower to act under this subsection may, subject to any orders which the Central Government may make in this behalf, exercise within any State any part of which is included in the said district any of the powers of the officer in charge of a police-station in that State, and when so exercising any such powers, shall, subject to any such Order as aforesaid, be deemed to be an officer in charge of a police-station discharging the functions of such an officer within the limits of his station. (4) A part of a State included in the said district shall not by reason of that inclusion cease, for the purposes of any enactment relating to police to be part of that State.]

Police Act, 1888 Section 3

Title: Employment of Police Officers Beyond the State to Which They Belong

Title: Preservation of Certain Rights of Persons Belonging to Reserve Forces when Called Up for Training, Muster or Army Service

1 [8 . Preservation of certain rights of persons belonging to Reserve Forces when called up for training, muster or army service When any person belonging to the Indian Reserve Forces and called up for training, muster or army service in pursuance of his liability under any rule or order under this Act has any rights under any provident fund or superannuation fund or other scheme for the benefit of employees maintained in connection with the employment he relinquishes, he shall continue, so long as he is engaged in training, muster or army service and if he is reinstated, until such reinstatement under the provisions of this Act, to have in respect of such fund or scheme such rights as may be prescribed by rules made under this Act.] ____________________________________ 1. (1) { Subs ibid for " In a Part A State or a Part C State" The words in italics had been Sub by the A.O.1950 for "any part of the provinces.}[In any part of India] beyond the limits of the territories administered by the Governor of Fort St.George in Council, and the Lieutenant-Governors of Bengal and the North-Western Provinces, to or in which Acts VIII of 1851 and XV of 1864 may be or have been extended, or may be or have been declared to be in force, under the latter of those Acts or by this Act or by or under any other enactment the State Government shall be deemed to have and, where the Acts have been in force before the passing of this Act, to have had the same authority as if it had been among the State Governments specified in section 2 of Act VIII of 1851. { sub section (2) omitted by the A O.1937.}
