Waste Lands (Claims) Act, 1863 Section 20

Title: When Land Sold Not Absolutely, or Not Sold, but Otherwise Dealt with

If the land shall have been sold subject to any condition reservation, or shall not have been sold, but shall have been otherwise dealt with on account of {Subs., ibid., for " the Govt."}[the State Government], and the Court shall be of opinion that the claim to such land, or the objection of an objector, is established, the Court shall award the claimant or objector to receive such sum, in respect of his interest in such land, as shall be awarded in that behalf under the provisions of [See now the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (1 of 1894), section 2.] Act 6 of 1857 (for the acquisition of lands for public purposes), and thereupon the State Government shall proceed under the said Act to obtain an upward of the value of such interest.

Title: Transfer of Property Which Cannot Be Sold

.....in the manner prescribed, to the co-operative society which has applied for the execution of the said order. (2) Where property is transferred to the co-operative society under sub-section (1) or where the property is sold under section 101, the Court, the Deputy Commissioner or the Registrar, as the case may be, may in accordance with the rules place the society or the purchaser, as the case may be, in possession of the property transferred or sold. Title: Commodities in Packaged Form Intended to Be Sold or Distributed in the Course of Inter-state Trade or Commerce

.....such unit or weight, measure or number as may be prescribed. (2) Every package to which this Part applies shall bear thereon the name of the manufacturer and also of the packer or distributor. (3) Where the package of a commodity to which this Part applies or the label thereon bears a representation as to the number of servings, of the commodity contained therein, such package or label shall also bear a statement as to the net quantity (in terms of weight, measure or number) of each such serving. (4) The statement on a package or label as to the net weight, measure or number of the contents thereof shall not include any expression which tends to qualify such weight, measure or number: Provided that the Central Government may, by rules, specify the commodities, the weight or measure of which is likely to increase or decrease beyond the prescribed tolerance limits by reason of climatic variations; and it shall be lawful for the manufacturer or packer of the commodity so specified to qualify the statement as to the net content of such commodity by the use of the words "when packed". Agricultural Income-tax Act, 1957 Section 43

Title: Right, Title and Interest in Property Sold for Arrears of Tax in Certain Cases

(1) Where any property of a Hindu undivided family, an Aliyasanthana family or branch, or a Marmakkattayam tarwad, tavazhi, is sold for the realisation of arrears of agricultural income-tax, the right, title and interest of all the members of such family, branch, tarwad to tavazhi in the property shall pass to the purchaser. (2) Where any person has been assessed to agricultural income-tax on the agricultural income derived from a land held by him wholly or partly for the benefit of other persons and the tax payable by him is in arrears, the land so held by him may be attached and sold for the realisation of such arrears and on such sale, the right, title and interest of such person in the said land shall pass to the purchaser.

Waste Lands (Claims) Act, 1863 Section 22

Title: Government Not Barred from Awarding Compensation for Land Absolutely Sold, Though Claim Be Not Preferred in Time

Nothing in this Act shall be held to prevent the State Government from awarding, to any claimant of waste land sold on account of [Subs.by the A.O.1937 for " Govt."][the State Government], on proof to the satisfaction of the State Government of the claim of such claimant (notwithstanding that he may not have preferred his claim either to the Collector or other officer as aforesaid, or to the proper Court constituted under this Act, within the period prescribed by this Act), such amount as compensation for the said land, within the limit as to amount mentioned in section 19 of this Act, if the land have been sold not subject to any condition or reservation, as to such State Government may seem proper.

Title: Site on Which Dwelling House is Built to Be Sold to Tenant

Site on which dwelling house is built to be sold to tenant (1) If a landlord to whom the site referred to in section 35 belongs intends to sell such site, it shall be sold only to the tenant at the expense of whom or of any of whose predecessors in-title the dwelling house thereon has been built. (2) The price payable by the tenant for such site shall be an amount equal to ten times the land revenue payable thereon and where such site is not assessed to land revenue, an amount equal to ten times the land revenue which may be assessed if it had been used for agricultural purposes.
