.....part in subscribe in aid of or assist in any other manner, any political movement or activity. (2) If any question arises whether any movement or activity falls within the scope of this Act, the decision of the Executive Committee shall be final. (3) The Syiem or Acting Syiem or Deputy Syiem shall not canvas or otherwise interfere or use his influence in connection with or take part in an election to any Legislature, District Council or Local authority. Provided that: (i) The Syiem or Acting Syiem or Deputy Syiem qualified to vote at such election may exercise his right to vote, but where he does so, he shall give no indication of the manner in which he proposes to vote or has voted. (ii) The Syiem or Acting Syiem or Deputy Syiem shall not be deemed to have contravened the provisions of this Act by reason only that he assists in the conduct of an election in due performance of a duty imposed on him or under any law for the time being in force; and (iii) The display by a Syiem or Acting Syiem or Deputy Syiem of any election symbol on his person or vehicle, shall amount to using his influence in connection with an election within the meaning of this sub-section. 14......

Title: Relief Where Too High a Court-fee Has Been Paid

.....a particular inventory and valuation of the property of the deceased, verified by affidavit or affirmation, and if such Authority is satisfied that a greater fee was paid on the probate or letters than the law required, the sad Authority may-- (a) cancel the stamp on the probate or letters, if such stamp has not been already cancelled: (b) substitute another stamp for denoting the court- fee which should have been paid thereon; and (c) make an allowance for the difference between them as in the case of spoiled stamps, or repay the same in money, at his discretion. ________________________ 1 . Bird and Company Limited is a lading company in a group of 23 other companies engaged in manufacturing, mining, trading and investment activities. While two of the companies are subsidiaries of the Company, the other companies in the group are under varying degrees of control of the company through its direct shareholding or by shareholding by the investment companies in the group. The Company provides marketing and management services to some of the group companies. The manufacturing companies in the group are engaged in production of goods which are vital to the needs of' the country. There had been .several allegations against the management of some of these companies indicating misuse of the companies, mismanagement, misfeasance or malfeasance. The Company Law Board ordered investigations in 1977 under section 237 (b) of the Companies Act, 1956, in respect of some of these companies. Four of the companies have already been nationalised.
