THE KERALA PUBLIC MEN'S CORRUPTION (INVESTIGATIONS AND INQUIRIES) AMENDMENT ACT, 1992 [Act No. 4 of 1992] PREAMBLE An Act further to amend the Kerala Public Men's Corruption (Investigations and inquiries) Act, 1987. Preamble.- WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Kerala Public Men's Corruption (Investigations and Inquiries) Act, 1987 for the purposes hereinafter appearing; Be it enacted in the Forty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:- Section 1 - Short title and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Kerala Public Men's Corruption (Investigations and Inquiries) Amendment Act, 1992. (2) The provisions of Ss. 3, 4, 8, 10 and 11 shall be deemed to have come into force on the 11th day of December, 1991 and the remaining provisions of this Act shall come into force at once and the reference in any such provision to the commencement of this Act shall be construed as a reference to the coming into force of that provision. Title: Procedure of Appeal and Arbitration in Disciplinary Cases Against Students

(1) Any student or candidate for an examination whose name has been removed from the rolls of the University by the orders or resolution of the Vice-Chancellor, Discipline Committee or Examination Committee, as the case may be, and who has been debarred from appearing at the examinations of the University for more than one year, may, within ten days of the date of receipt of such orders or copy of such resolution by him, appeal to the Board and the Board may confirm, modify or reverse the decision of the Vice-Chancellor or the Committee, as the case may be. (2) Any dispute arising out of any disciplinary action taken by the University against a student shall, at the request of such student, be referred to a Tribunal of Arbitration and the provisions of sub-section (2),(3), (4) and (5) of section 31 shall, as far as may be, apply to a reference made under this sub-section.

All the casual vacancies among the members (other than ex-officio members) of any authority or other body of the University shall be filled, as soon as may be convenient, by the person or body who appoints, elects or co-opts the member whose place has become vacant and any person appointed, elected or co-opted to a casual vacancy shall be a member of such authority or body for the residue of the term for which the person whose place he fills would have been a member.
