Conditions to be observed before placing persons rescued under section 16 to parents or guardians Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (2) of section 17, the magistrate making an inquiry under section 17 may, before passing an order for handing over any person rescued under section 16 to the parents, guardian or husband, satisfy himself about the capacity or genuineness of the parents, guardian or husband to keep such person by causing an investigation to be made by a recognised welfare institution or organisation.] ________________________ 1. Title: Power of Requisition of Resources, Provisions, Vehicles, Etc., for Rescue Operations, Etc.

.....in writing, requisition such resources or premises or such vehicle, as the case may be, and may make such further orders as may appear to it to be necessary or expedient in connection with the requisitioning. (2) Whenever any resource, premises or vehicle is requisitioned under sub-section (1), the period of such requisition shall not extend beyond the period for which such resource, premises or vehicle is required for any of the purposes mentioned in that sub-section. (3) In this section,-- (a) "resources" includes men and material resources; (b) "services" includes facilities; (c) "premises" means any land, building or part of a building and includes a hut, shed or other structure or any part thereof; (d) "vehicle" means any vehicle used or capable of being used for the purpose of transport, whether propelled by mechanical power or otherwise.

Title: Resistance or Obstruction to Lawful Apprehension, or Escape or Rescue in Cases Not Otherwise Provided for

Whoever, in any case not provided for in section 224 or section 225 or in any other law for the time being in force, intentionally offers any resistance or illegal obstruction to the lawful apprehension of himself or of any other person, or escapes or attempts to escape from any custody in which he is lawfully detained, or rescues or attempts to rescue any other person from any custody in which that person is lawfully detained, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine, or with both.]

Title: Aiding Escape Of, Rescuing or Harbouring Such Prisoner

Title: Penalty for Forcibly Opposing the Seizure of Cattle or Rescuing the Same

Whoever forcibly opposes the seizure of cattle liable to be seized under this Act, and whoever rescues the same after seizure, either from a pound, or from any person taking or about to take them to a pound, such person being near at hand and acting under the powers conferred by this Act. shall, on conviction before a Magistrate, be punished with imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months, or with fine not exceeding five hundred rupees, or with both. [As to the application of Section 25 in the case of cattle-trespassing on a railway, see the Indian Railways Act, 1890 (9 of 1890), Section 125 (3).]

Title: Powers to Be Made Available for Rescue Operations
