Delhi Cooperative Societies Act, 1972 Complete Act

.....as member of a co-operative society except the following, namely : (a) an individual competent to contract under Section 11 of the Indian Contract Act, 1972 (b) any other co-operative society (c) the Central Government; and (d) such class or classes of persons or association of persons as may be notified by the Lieutenant-Governor in his behalf : Provided that the provisions of clause (a) shall not apply to an individual seeking admission to a society exclusively formed for the benefit of students of a school or college (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), the Lieutenant- Governor may, having regard to the fact that the interest of any person or class of persons conflicts or is likely to conflict with the objects of any society or class of societies, by general or special order, published in the Delhi Gazette, declare that any person or class of persons engaged in or carrying on any profession, business or employment shall be disqualified from being admitted, or for continuing as members or shall be eligible for membership only to a limited extent of any specified society or class of societies, so long as such person is or such persons are.....

MULTI-STATE CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES ACT, 2002 MULTI-STATE CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES ACT, 2002 39 of 2002 3rd July, 2002 An Act to consolidate and amend the law relating to co-operative societies, with objects not confined to one State and serving the interests of members in more than one State, to facilitate the voluntary formation and democratic functioning of co-operatives as people's institutions based on self-help and mutual aid and to enable them to promote their economic and social betterment and to provide functional autonomy and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. Be it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Multi-State Co-operative Societies Act, 2002. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act and any reference in any such provision to the commencement of this Act shall be construed as a reference to the coming into force of that.....

(3) Save as otherwise provided in sub-section (2) and notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section ( 1 ), no individual shall be eligible for admission as a member of a national co-operative society. Whatever was said or done by A or B or the by-standers at the beating, or so shortly before or after it as to form part of the transaction, is a relevant fact. (b) A is accused of waging war against the 1 [Government of India] by taking part in an armed insurrection in which property is destroyed, troops are attacked and goals are broken open. The occurrence of these facts is relevant, as forming part of the general transaction, thought A may not have been present at all of them. (c) A sues B for a libel contained in a letter forming part of a correspondence.
