..... (7) "building of the warehouse class" means a building, the whole or a substantial part of which is used, or intended to be used, as a warehouse, factory, manufactory, brewery, or distillery, or for any similar purpose, which is neither a "domestic building" nor a "public building" as defined in this section, and includes a hut used or intended to be used for any of the purposes mentioned in this clause; (8) "bustee" means an area containing land not less than seven hundred square metres in area occupied by or for the purposes of any collection of huts or other structures used or intended to be used for human habitation. Explanation.-If any question arises as to whether any particular area is or is not a bustee, the Corporation shall decide the question and its decision shall be final; (9) "Kolkata" means the area described in Schedule I; 3 Clause (10) omitted by s. 2 of the Calcutta Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Act, 1996 (West Ben. Title: Adjournment of Poll in Emergencies

(1) If at an election the proceedings at any polling station provided under section 25 or at the place fixed under sub-section (1) of section 29 for the poll are interrupted or obstructed by any riot or open violence, or if at an election it is not possible to take the poll at any polling station or such place on account of any natural calamity, or any other sufficient cause the presiding officer for such polling station or the returning officer presiding over such place, as the case may be, shall announce an adjournment of the poll to a date to be notified later, and where the poll is so adjourned by a presiding officer, he shall forthwith inform the returning officer concerned. (2) Whenever a poll is adjourned under sub-section (1), the returning officer shall immediately report the circumstances to the appropriate authority and the Election Commission and shall, as soon as may be, with the previous approval of the Election Commission appoint the day on which the poll shall recommence, and fix the polling station or place at which, and the hours during which, the poll will be taken, and shall not count the votes cast at such election until such adjourned poll shall have been.....

Title: Revival of suit after such dismissal

If at any time within twelve months after a decree dismissing the suit upon any of the grounds mentioned in the last preceding section the respondent again desert or repudiate the petitioner upon the ground of his or her change of religion, the suit may be revived by summoning the respondent; and upon proof of the former decree and of such renewed repudiation or desertion, the suit shall recommence at the stage at which it had arrived immediately before the passing of such decree; and, after the proofs, interrogations, interview and adjournment which may then be requisite under the provisions hereinbefore contained, the Judge shall pass a decree of the nature mentioned in section 16 of this Act.

.....the presiding officer for such polling station shall announce an adjournment of the opinion poll to a date to be notified later, and where the opinion poll is so adjourned by a presiding officer, he shall forthwith inform the opinion poll commissioner concerned. (2) Whenever an opinion poll is adjourned under sub-section (1), the opinion poll commissioner shall immediately report the circumstances to the Chief Election Commissioner and shall, as soon as may be, with the previous approval of the Chief Election Commissioner, appoint the day on which the opinion poll shall recommence and fix the polling station at which, and the hours during which, the opinion poll will be taken, and shall not count the votes cast at such opinion poll until such adjourned opinion poll shall have been completed. (3) In every such case as aforesaid, the opinion poll commissioner shall notify, in such manner as the Chief Election Commissioner may direct, the date, place and hours of polling fixed under sub-section (2).

Title: Discontinuance of Supply in Certain Circumstances

.....the licensee upto such date as may be specified by the State Government; or (iii) exceeds the supply permitted by the State Government under sub-section (3) of section 5 or sanctioned by a licensee in pursuance of a requisition made under clause VI of the Schedule to the Indian Electricity Act, 1910, or,] 3[(c) within three months, after the service on him by the licensee of a notice in writing in this behalf does not utilise any electrical energy.] (2) The licensee shall - (i) before discontinuing or reducing the supply of electrical energy under sub-section (1) give the consumer not less than 48 hours' notice in writing of his intention so to do; (ii) on discontinuing the supply, communicate to the 4[State] Government within twenty-four hours from the date of discontinuance the circumstances in which he has done so; (iii) on being so directed by the 4[State] Government recommence the supply with all possible speed.
