Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (Qualification of Actuary) Regulations, 2004 Complete Act

.....herein shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in the Insurance Act, 1938 (4 of 1938), or in the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority Act, 1999 (41 of 1999), or in the Regulations made thereunder. Regulation 3 Qualifications of an actuary An actuary shall be a fellow of the Actuarial Society of India: Provided that where an application is made by any' individual to the Authority and it shown to the satisfaction of the Authority that the employment of such individual having actuarial knowledge for any specified purpose sufficient in order to enable an Indian insurance company or a person to carry out any of its or his obligations under the Act, the Authority may grant the application and permit such individual to sign as actuary for the specified purpose, subject to such conditions and restrictions as the Authority thinks fit to impose. Title: Recognition of Medical Qualifications

.....that date within India as defined in the Government of India Act, 1935, shall also be recognised medical qualifications for the purposes of this Act. Section 16 - Recognition of medical qualifications granted by medical institutions in countries with which there is a scheme of reciprocity (1) The medical qualifications granted by medical institutions outside India which are included in the Fourth Schedule shall be recognised medical qualifications for the purposes of this Act. Title: Recognition of Medical Qualifications Granted by Certain Medical Institutions Whose Qualifications Are Not Included in the First or Second Schedule

Title: Recognition of Medical Qualifications Granted by Medical Institutions in Countries with Which there is a Scheme of Reciprocity

.....after consultation with the Council, may, by notification in the Official Gazette, amend the Second Schedule by directing that an entry be made therein in respect of any medical qualification declaring that it shall be a recognised medical qualification only when granted before a specified date. (4) Where the Council has refused to recommend any medical qualification which has been proposed for recognition by any Authority referred to in sub-section (2) and that Authority applies to the Central Government in this behalf, the Central Government, after considering such application and after obtaining from the Council a report, if any, as to the reasons for any such refusal, may, by notification in the Official Gazette, amend the Second Schedule so as to include such qualification therein and the provisions of sub-section (2) shall apply to such notification.

Dentists Act, 1948 Section 10B

Title: Non-recognition of Dental Qualifications in Certain Cases

.....for the purposes of this Act. (3) Where any authority or institution granting recognised dental qualification increases its admission capacity in any course of study or training (including a post-graduate course of study or training) except with the previous permission of the Central Government in accordance with the provisions of section 10A, no dental qualification granted to any student of such authority or institution on the basis of the increase in its admission capacity shall be a recognised dental qualification for the purposes of this Act. Explanation. For the purposes of this section, the criteria for identifying a student who has been granted a dental qualification on the basis of such increase in the admission capacity shall be such as may be prescribed.
