In the principal Act, in Section 3,- (A) For the full-stop "(.)" at the end of subsection (1) a colon "(;)" shall be substituted ; (B) The following proviso to sub-section (1) shall be inserted, namely:- "Provided that the Government of Meghalaya, if satisfied may, from time, by notification, prohibit such transfer of land within such area or areas as may be specified in the notification and thereupon the competent authority shall not sanction any such transfer of land under the provision of this Act, within such area or areas." THE KERALA WOMEN'S COMMISSION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2007 ACT 27 OF 2007 THE KERALA WOMEN'S COMMISSION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2007 An Act further to amend the Kerala Women's Commission Act, 1991. Preamble.- WHEREAS, it is expedient further to amend the Kerala Women's Commission Act, 1991 (17 of 1995) for the purposes hereinafter appearing; BE it enacted in the Fifty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Kerala Women's Commission (Amendment) Act, 2007. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 24th day of January, 2007. 2. Amendment of section 2.- In section 2 of the Kerala Women's Commission Act, 1991 (17 of 1995) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), after clause (h), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:- "(ha) "Secretary" means the Member Secretary of the Commission appointed under sub-section (1) of section 12;". 3.
