.....DEPARTMENT Notification The 7th August, 2007 No. AHE 154/2007/166 In exercise of powers conferred under sub-section (1) read with sub- section (2) of section 47 of the Assam Private Universities Act, 2007 (Assam Act No. XII of 2007), the Governor of Assam is hereby pleased to make the following rules for carrying out the purposes of the said Act, namely :- 1. Short title and commencement (1) These rules may be called the Assam Private Universities Rules, 2007. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazatte. 2. Definitions In these rules unless the context otherwise requires " (a) "Act" means the Assam Private Universities Act, 2007 (Assam Act No. XII of 2007); (b) "application fee" means the amount deposited by the sponsoring body along with the proposal and project report to establish a university in private sector; (c) "committee" means a committee constituted under sub- section (3) of section 4 and sub-section (2) of section 5; (d) "land" means land meant for the establishment of the main campus of the university but shall not include land on which "off-campus centre" and "study centre" are.....

Section 2 - Interpretation clause In this Act, unless there be something repugnant in the subject or context- (1) Fish.- "Fish" includes shell-fish and turtles. (2) Fixed engine.- "Fixed engine" means any net, cage, trap or other contrivance for taking fish fixed in the soil or made stationary in any other way. (3) Private waters.- "Private waters" means water- (a) which are the exclusive property of and person; or (b) in which any person has an exclusive right of fishery. Section 3 - Penalties Any person who- (a) fishes in any private water, not having a right to fish therein; (b) erects, places, maintains or uses any fixed engine in private waters, or puts, or knowingly permits to be puts, therein any matter for the purpose of catching or destroying fish without the permission of the person to whom the right of fishery therein belongs; Shall be guilty of an offence, and shall be punished for a first offence with a fine not exceeding fifty rupees; and for a subsequent offence with imprisonment.....

XV OF 1956 Under the provisions made under Section 4(1) of the State Aid to Industries (Small and Cottage Industries) Act, 1955 loans upto Rs. 20,000 only can be sanctioned by the Cottage Industries Department and applications for loans over that amount are required to be passed on to the State Financial Corporation. In cases, however, where the industrial concern is not found eligible for accommodation from Corporation, the Cottage Industries Department may consider such applications upto a limit of Rs. 50,000. But the Co-operative Societies being composed of a number of individuals generally require more capital than what an individual requires. The industries taken up by the Co-operative Societies are also larger than industries taken up by the individuals and as such a Co-operative Society usually required more than Rs. 20,000 for developing the industries. The Government of India have offered assistance to State Governments for issuing loans to Small Industries at 3 percent interest per annum only and.....
