.....Act, or (e) has directly or indirectly by himself or by any partner, any share or interest in any firm or company carrying on the business of manufacture, sale, or hire of machinery, industrial plant, control equipment or any other apparatus for the improvement of the quality of air or for the prevention, control of abatement of air pollution, or (f) is a director or a secretary, manager or other salaried officer or employee of any company or firm having any contract with the Board, or with the Government constituting the Board or with a local authority in the State, or with a company or corporation owned, controlled or managed by the Government, for the carrying out of programs for the improvement of the quality of air or for the prevention, control or abatement of air pollution, or (g) has so abused, in the opinion of the State Government, his position as a member, as to render his continuance or the State Board detrimental to the interests of the general public. Title: The Bombay Prevention of Fragmentation and Consolidation of Holdings Act, 1947

.....to extend the Bombay Prevention of Fragmentation of Consolidation of Holdings Act, 1947, to the whole of the reorganised State of Bombay. The Act was enacted - (1) to prevent fragmentation of agricultural holding, and (2) to provide for the consolidation of agricultural holdings for the purpose of better cultivation. The object of the Act when it was passed in 1947 was simply to consolidate and prevent fragmentation of holdings. The intention of the Legislature was - (a) to encourage the development of agriculture; and (b) to improve the agricultural product, and one way of achieving this object was by introducing consolidation schemes. The Act divides itself into two parts. The first part deals with the prevention of fragmentation and the second part with the consolidation of holdings. As regards prevention of fragmentation the fragment is first determined by determining the standard area. Standard area means the minimum area of each class of land on a single spot or holding below which it is definitely unprofitable to cultivate. Standard area - The Standard area is fixed for each class of land by the State in consultation with the District Rural.....

Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2002 [Repealed] Amending Act 1

.....Prevention of Terrorism (Amendment) Act, 2003. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 27th day of October, 2003. 2. Amendment of section 60 In section 60 of the Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2002(15 of 2002), after sub-section (3), the following sub-sections shall be inserted, namely:-- "(4) Without prejudice to the other provisions of this Act, any Review Committee constituted under sub-section (1) shall, on an application by any aggrieved person, review whether there is a prima facie case for proceeding against the accused under this Act and issue directions accordingly. (5) Any direction issued under sub-section (4),-- (i) by the Review Committee constituted by the Central Government, shall be binding on the Central Government, the State Government and the police officer investigating the offence; and (ii) by the Review Committee constituted by the State Government, shall be binding on the State Government and the police officer investigating the offence. (6) Where the reviews under sub-section (4) relating to the same offence under this Act, have been made by a Review Committee constituted by the Central Government and a Review Committee.....

Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2002 [Repealed] Repealing Act 1

Title: Prevention of Terrorism (Repeal) Act, 2004 (26 of 2004)

.....and (b) in cases in which investigations are pending, the investigations shall be closed forthwith, with effect from the date of issuance of the direction by such Review Committee in this regard. (4) The Review Committee constituted by the Central Government under sub-section (1) of section 60 of the principle Act shall, while reviewing cases, have powers of a civil court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908(5 of 1908) in respect of the following matters, namely:- (a) discovery and production of any document; (b) requisitioning any public record or copy thereof from any court or office. (5) The Central Government may constitute more Review Committees, as it may consider necessary, for completing the review within the period specified in sub-section (3). 3. Section 3 (1) The Prevention of Terrorism (Repeal) Ordinance, 2004 is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of this act.

THE WATER (PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF POLLUTION) ACT, 1974 [Act, No. 6 of 1974] [23rd March, 1974] PREAMBLE An Act to provide for the prevention and control of water pollution and the maintaining or restoring of wholesomeness of water, for the establishment, with a view to carrying out the purposes aforesaid, of Boards for the prevention and control of water pollution, for conferring on and assigning to such Boards powers and functions relating thereto and for matters connected therewith. WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the prevention and control of water pollution and the maintaining or restoring of wholesomeness of water, for the establish­ment, with a view to carrying out the purposes aforesaid, of Boards for the prevention and control of water pollution and for conferring on and assigning to such Boards powers and functions relating thereto; AND WHEREAS Parliament has no power to make laws for the States with respect to any of the matters aforesaid except as provided in articles 249 and 250 of the Constitution; AND WHEREAS in pursuance of clause (1) of article 252 of the Constitution resolutions have been passed by all the Houses of the Legislatures.....

.....India as follows:-- 1. Short title This Act may be called the Parliament (Prevention of Disqualification) Amendment Act, 2006. 2. Amendment of section 3 In section 3 of the Parliament (Prevention of Disqualification) Act, 1959 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act),-- (i) after clause (ac), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-- "(ad) the office of the Chairperson of the National Advisory Council constituted by the Government of India in the Cabinet Secretariat vide Order No. 631/2/1/2004-Cab., dated the 31st May, 2004;"; (ii) after clause (j) and before Explanation 1, the following clauses shall be inserted and shall be deemed to have been inserted with effect from the 4th day of April, 1959, namely:-- "(k) the office of Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Secretary or Member (by whatever name called) in any statutory or non-statutory body specified in the Table; (l) the office of Chairperson or trustee (by whatever name called) of any Trust, whether public or private, not being a body specified in the Schedule; (m) the office of Chairman, President, Vice-President or Principal Secretary or Secretary of the Governing Body of any society registered.....
