The Kerala Fire Force Act, 1962 [1] Complete Act

.....with necessary applian ces and equipments to carry on fire fighting operations in such neigh bouring area and thereupon all the provisions of this Act and the rules made thereunder shall apply to such area, during the period of fire of emergency or during such period as the Director may specify. 26. (2) All claims under sub-section ( l) shall be preferred to the Collector within thirty days from the date when the damage was caused. Section 37 - Information on outbreak of fire Any person who possesses any information regarding an outbreak of fire shall communicate the same without delay to the nearest fire station. Section 38 - Indemnity No suit, prosecution or other legal proceedings shall lie against any person for anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done in pursuance of this Act or any rule or order made thereunder. Section 39 - Power to make rules (1) The State Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, make for carrying out the purpose of this Act. Title: Precautions Against Fire

(1) The Commissioner may by notice require the owner of any structure, booth or tent, partly or entirely composed of or having any external roof, verandah, pendal, fence, or wall partly or entirely composed of cloth, grass, leaves, mats or other inflammable materials to remove or alter such structure, booth, tent, roof, verandah, pendal, fence or wall, or may grant him permission to retain the same on such conditions as the Commissioner may think necessary to prevent danger from fire. (2) The Commissioner may by notice require any person using any place for the storage for private use of timber firewood or other combustible things to take special steps to guard against danger from fire. (1) The Director or any member of the Force authorised by him in this behalf may enter any of the places specified in any notification issued under section 13 for the purpose of determining whether precautions against fire required to be taken on such place have been so taken.
