.....this Act; (i) "Trimbak Municipal area" means the area within the jurisdiction of the Trimbak Municipal Council established under the Municipalities Act. SECTION 03: LEVY OF PILGRIM TAX ON PERSONS VISITING TRIMBAK MUNICIPAL AREA DURING SINHASTHA FAIR (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Municipalities Act, there shall be levied and collected the piligrim tax on every person (unless he is exempted under this Act), visiting or entering the Trimbak Municipal area, on each occasion, during the period of Sinhastha Fair, at the following rates, namely :- (a) at the rate of one rupee per visit or entry for an adult; (b) at the rate of fifty paise per visit or entry for a chiled. (2) The tax may be collected in or near the vehicle by which the person may be travelling, or at any Naka, in the Trimbak Municipal area or in any part of its periphery, by the conductor of any stage carriage belonging to the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation or by the Naka Karkun appointed by the Collector. Title: Medical Inspection and Permission Required Before Embarkation of Pilgrims

.....the embarkation of pilgrims to commence. (2) The medical inspection of female pilgrims shall, subject to any rules which may be made under this Act and as far as may be practicable, be carried out by women. (3) No pilgrim shall be received on board any pilgrim ship unless he produces the medical certificate signed by a person who is duly qualified to grant such certificate, showing that such pilgrim- (a) has been inoculated against cholera within such period before the inspection as may be prescribed; and (b) has been vaccinated against smallpox within such period before the inspection as maybe prescribed: Provided that the officer making the inspection may dispense with the certificate of vaccination, if in his opinion the pilgrim has marks showing that he has had smallpox. Title: Cost of Return Journey of Pilgrims on Ships Other Than Those for Which Return Ticket is Available

.....the port of Jeddah having been declared by proper authority to be infected or by reason of war, disturbance or any other clause not arising from any act or default of the master, owner or agent. Title: Powers of Committee to Issue Pilgrim Passes and Levy Fees

(1) The Committee, shall have the power to issue a travel document called "Pilgrim Pass" to a Haj pilgrim for his departure from India as a bonafide pilgrim to Saudi Arabia and the said Pilgrim shall be deemed 16 be exempted from the provisions of section 3 of the Passport Act, 1967 (15 of 1967). (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Passports Act, 1967 (15 of 1967), the Central Government may, in consultation with the Committee, levy such fees for registration of a Haj pilgrim, issuance of Pilgrim Pass by the Committee and other related matters, as may be prescribed in connection with rendering of such services.

Title: Sub-committees and Inspection of Pilgrim Ships

.....when inspecting a pilgrim ship shall be accompanied by the certifying officer appointed for the port under section 151 of the Indian Merchant Shipping Act, 1923 ( 21 of 1953 ), or by the Surveyor of the ship or other person deputed by the certifying officer. (3) The Executive Officer of the Committee, or a sub-committee appointed under sub-section (1) may enter and inspect any pilgrim ship advertised or offering to sail from, or which has returned to, the port of Bombay. (4) A master or any officer of a pilgrim ship who fails to render reasonable facilities for such inspection shall be punishable with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees. (5) No magistrate other than a presidency magistrate or magistrate of the first class shall take cognizance of an offence punishable under sub-section (4), and such magistrate shall take cognizance of such offence only on written complaint by the Chairman of the Committee. (6) The Committee may also appoint other sub-committees for such purposes as it may think fit and any such sub-committee shall consist of such number of members and other persons as may be determined by bye-laws made in this behalf by the Committee.

Title: Bond Where Pilgrim Ship Proceeds on Outward Voyage

(1) Port clearance shall not be granted from any port in India to any pilgrim ship unless the master, owner or agent and two sureties resident in India have executed, in favour of the Central Government a joint and several bond for the sum of ten thousand rupees or has given such other guarantee or security as may be acceptable to that Government covering all voyages which may be made by the ship in the current pilgrim season, conditioned that (a) the master and medical officer shall comply with the provisions of this Part and the rules made there under, and (b) the master, owner or agent shall pay any sum claimed by the Central Government under sub-section (2) of Section 277, (2) A bond, guarantee or security may be given under this section covering any or all of the pilgrim ships owned by one owner, and in such cases the amount of the bond, guarantee or security shall be ten thousand rupees for each ship covered.
