Maharashtra Irrigation Act, 1976 Complete Act

.....are applicable to the acquisition of such land or the extinguishment of such right or interest. (4) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Act or in the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, within not less than fifteen days (except by private negotiations) after the publication of the declaration under sub-section (2) of the publication of the notification under sub-section (2) of Section 25, the State Government may direct that any land in respect of which a notification has been issued shall be taken possession of by the Canal Officer duly empowered in this behalf by it, and the right and interest in land specified in the notification shall be extinguished from the date specified in the direction and on such possession being taken, the said land shall vest absolutely in the State Government free from all encumbrances: Provided that, before or at the time of taking possession of any land under this sub -section, the Collector shall offer to the person interested compensation for the standing crops, trees and structure, if any, on such land and for any damage sustained by him which is caused by such sudden dispossession, and not excepted in Section 24 of the Land Acquisition.....

.....made by Parliament by law, the declaration contained in section 2was effective during that period.- Gaz. of lnd., 27-12-1912, Pt. II, S. 2, p. 639. Act 21 of 1970.- The Central Silk Board Act, 1948 (61 of 1948) provides for the development of the silk industry under the control of the union and for that purpose has establishment (established) a Central Silk Board Under sub-section (2) of section 12of that act, the accounts of the Board are to be audited annually by auditors appointed by the Central Government and at present the accounts are, by consent, being audited by the Deputy Accountant General, Commerce, Works and Miscellaneous, Bombay. It is proposed to amend section 12to make specific provision authorising the Comptroller and Auditor-General of India or any other person authorised by him to audit the accounts of the Board. It is also proposed to insert a provision requiring the Board to prepare for every year a report of its activities during that year and submit it to the Central Government for being laid before Parliament. 2. Opportunity is being taken to amend- (a)Section 1(2) of the Act to provide for its extension to the State of Jammu and Kashmir; (b) Section 8(2).....
