.....in this behalf under this Act or the rules made thereunder; (21) "jute-mill" means a factory as defined in, or declared to be a factory under, the Factories Act, 1948, which is engaged wholly or in part in the manufacture of jute products; (22) "manufacture", with all its grammatical variations and cognate expressions, means producing, making, extracting or processing any goods and includes printing and raising of natural resources like minerals, coal etc.; (23) "net tax", in relation to any period, means (a) in case of a registered dealer, the amount of output tax in excess of the input tax credit claimed by such registered dealer in accordance with the provisions of this Act and the rules made thereunder, (b) in case of any dealer other than a registered dealer, the amount of output tax; (24) "notification" means a notification published in the Official Gazette; (25) "occupier of a jute-mill" means the person who has ultimate control over the affairs of the jute-mill; (26) "output tax", in relation to any period, means the aggregate amount of tax payable by a dealer liable to pay tax under section 10, section 11, section 12, section 13, sub-section (3) of section 14, or.....

CHAPTER 22 Beverages, spirits and vinegar NOTES 1. This Chapter does not cover: (a) products falling thereunder (other than those of heading 2209) prepared for culinary purposes and thereby rendered unsuitable for consumption as beverages (generally heading 2103); (b) sea water (heading 2501); (c) distilled or conductivity water or water of similar purity (heading 2851); (d) acetic acid of concentration exceeding 10 % by weight of acetic acid (heading 2915); (e) medicaments of heading 3003 or 3004; or (f) perfumery or toilet preparations (Chapter 33). 2. For the purposes of this Chapter and of Chapters 20 and 21, the "alcoholic strength by volume" shall be determined at a temperature of 20 C. 3. For the purposes of heading 2202, the term "nonalcoholic beverages" means beverages of an alcoholic strength by volume not exceeding 0.5 % vol. Alcoholic beverages are classified in headings 2203 to 2206 or heading 2208 as appropriate. SUB-HEADING NOTE For the purposes of sub-heading 2204 10, the expression "sparkling wine" means wine which, when kept at a temperature of 20C in closed containers, has an excess pressure of not less than 3 bars. Be it enacted by the Legislature of Meghalaya in the Twenty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- Short title and commencement. 1. (1) This Act may be called the Contingency Fund of Meghalaya (Amendment) Act, 1979. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 22nd day of September, 1978. Amendment of Section 2 of Meghalaya Act 5 of 1972. 2. In Section 2 of the Contingency Fund of Meghalaya Act,1972 for the words "sum of rupees fifty lakhs" the words "a sum of rupees one crore and fifty lakhs" shall be substituted. [Explanation:- The aforesaid sum of rupees one crore and fifty lakhs includes the sum of rupees twenty-five lakhs paid to the Contingency Fund of Meghalaya under the Contingency Fund of Meghalaya (Augmentation of Corpus) Act, 1974 (10 of 1974)]. Repeal of Ordinance 6 of 1978. 3. The Contingency Fund of Meghalaya (Amendment) Ordinance, 1978 is hereby repealed. (1) This Act may be called the Orissa Value Added Tax (Amendment) Act, 2005. (2) It shall be deemed to have been come into force on the 1st day of July, 2005. Amendment of section 10 Orissa Act 4 of 2005 2. In the Orissa Value Added Tax Act, 2004 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in section 10, in sub-section(4), in clause(d), for the letters and figure "Rs.2,00,000", the letters and figure "Rs.3,00,000" shall be substituted.
