.....first published in an extraordinary issue of the Orissa Gazette, dated the 15th April 1966.] AN ACT TO EXTEND THE PROVISIONS OF THE INDIAN SOLDIERS (LITIGATION) ACT, 1925 TO PROCEEDINGS UNDER CERTAIN SPECIAL ACTS BE it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Orissa in the Sixteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- Short title, extent and commencement. 1 . (1) This Act may be called the Indian Soldiers (Litigation) (Extension to other Proceedings) Act, 1965. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Orissa. (3) It shall come into force at once. 4 of 1925 Extended definition of Court. 2 . The term "Court" as defined in clause (a) of section 2 of the Indian Soldiers (Litigation) Act, 1925, shall include all Courts and other authorities functioning under any of the following Act, namely:- (1) Orissa Estates Abolition Act, 1951 (Orissa Act I of 1952). (2) Orissa Tenants Relief Act, 1955 (Orissa Act 5 of 1955). (3) Orissa Merged Territories (Village Offices Abolition) Act, 1963 (Orissa Act 10 of 1963). .....believing that an examination of his person will afford evidence as to the commission of an offence, it shall be lawful for a registered medical practitioner, acting at the request of a police officer not below the rank of sub-inspector, and for any person acting in good faith in his aid and under his direction, to make such an examination of the person arrested as is reasonably necessary in order to ascertain the facts which may afford such evidence, and to use such force as is reasonably for that purpose.
