THE ORIENTAL GAS COMPANY ACT,1867 [Act, No. 11 of 1867] [1st March, 1867] PREAMBLE An Act to empower the Oriental Gas Company Limited, to extend their operations to certain places in the States of India. WHEREAS under or by virtue of Act 5 of 1857 (to confer certain powers on the Oriental Gas Company, Limited) certain powers exercisable only in Calcutta and its environs were conferred on the Oriental Gas Company, Limited, and whereas it is expedient to empower the said Company to extend, with the previous sanction of the1[ Central Government], their operations to any other place in the States of India; It is hereby enacted as follows :-- ______________________________ 1. .....of section 27.-- In section 27 of the Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Public Library Act, 1969 ( 43 of 1969 ) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in sub-section (3), for the words "or in tow successive sessions, and if before the expiry of the session in which it is so laid or the session immediately following", the words "or in two or more successive sessions, and if, before the expiry of the session immediately following the session or the successive session aforesaid" shall be substituted. 3. Amendment of section 28.-- In section 28 of the principal Act, after sub-section (3), the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely:-- "(4) Every regulation made under this section shall be laid, as soon as may be after it is made, before each House of Parliament, while it is in session, for a total period of thirty days which may be comprised in one session or in two or more successive sessions, and it, before the expiry of the session immediately following the session or the successive sessions aforesaid, both Houses agree in making any modification in the regulation or both Houses agree that the regulation should not be made, the regulation shall thereafter have.....

.....eighth year of the reign of Her present Majesty, Cap.110, has since been registered in England under "The Joint Stock Companies' Act 1856" with limited liabilities and has duly obtained a certificate of incorporation under the name of the Oriental Gas Company Limited and whereas the said Company has erected Gas-works on land granted for that purpose by Government in the vicinity of the Town of Calcutta and is engaged in the preparation of apparatus and materials for the manufacture and supply of Gas fir lighting the said Town and where as it is expedient that powers and facilities should be given to the said company to enable then to carry out their undertaking of lighting with Gas the said Town of Calcutta which powers and facilities may hereafter be extended to the operations of the said Company in other towns and places it is enacted as follows:---

THE KHUDA BAKHSH ORIENTAL PUBLIC LIBRARY ACT, 1969 [Act, No. 43 of 1969] [26th December, 1969] PREAMBLE An Act to declare the Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Public Library at Patna to be an institution of national importance and to provide for its administration and certain other concerned matters. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Twentieth Year of the Republic of India as follows :--

Section 9 - Meeting of Board (1) The Board shall meet at such time and places and shall, subject to the provisions, of subsections (2), (3) and (4), observe such rules of procedure in regard to the transaction of business at its meeting (including the quorum at meetings) as may be provided by regulations made under this Act. (2) The Chairman or, in his absence, any member chosen by the members present from among themselves, shall preside at a meeting of the Board. .....September, 1962; (c) all fees and other charges levied under this Act; (d) all moneys received by the Board by way of grant, gift, donation, benefaction, bequest, subscription, contribution or transfer; (e) all other moneys received by the Board in any other manner or from any other source. (2) The Board may expend such sums as it thinks fit for performing its functions under this Act and such sums shall be treated as expenditure payable out of the Fund. (3) A sum of money not exceeding such amount as may be provided by regulations made under this Act may be kept in current account with any scheduled bank as defined in section 2 of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934-, or any other bank approved by the Central Government in this behalf, but any moneys in excess of that sum shall be deposited in the Reserve Bank of India or with the agents of the Reserve Bank of India or invested in such manner as may be approved by the Central Government.
