.....such chrome ore is exported; or (b) a duty of excise, where such chrome ore is sold or otherwise disposed of to the occupier of any metallurgical factory, or to any person who in turn sells it to a metallurgical factory, or is used by the owner of the mine in any metallurgical factory, at such rate not exceeding six rupees per metric tonne of chrome ore as the Central Government may, from time to time fix, by notification in the Official Gazette."; (c) in the Explanation,- (i) after the words "or manganese ore mine", the words "or chrome ore mine" shall be inserted; (ii) for the words, brackets, letters and figures "or sub-clause (b) of clause (ii), all the iron ore or manganese ore,", the words, brackets, letters and figures "or sub-clause (b) of clause (ii) or sub-clause (b) of clause (iii), all the iron ore or manganese ore or chrome ore," shall be substituted. 6. THE BOLANI ORES LIMITED (ACQUISITION OF SHARES) AND MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS ACT, 1978 [Act, No.42 of 1978] [8th December, 1978] PREAMBLE An Act to provide for the acquisition of shares of the Bolani Ores Limited in public interest in order to serve better the needs of the nation and to facilitate the promotion and development in the interests of the general public, of national steel industry and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. WHEREAS Bolani Ores Limited was incorporated as a private limited company in June, 1957.For supplying ores mainly to the Durgapur Steel Plant; WHEREAS 50.5 per cent, shares in the share capital of the said Bolani Ores Limited are held by the Steel Authority of India Limited, a wholly owned Government company and the remaining 49.5 per cent.shares are held by the Orissa Minerals Developments Company Limited; WHEREAS cumulative losses suffered by the Bolani Ores Limited at the end of 1977-78 were to the extent of over Rs.270 lakhs and the said Bolani Ores Limited is in need of urgent funds to carry on the operations of its undertakings; AND WHEREAS the Orissa Minerals Development Company is not willing to contribute.....

Title: Iron Ore Mines and Manganese Ore Mines Labour Welfare Fund

There shall be formed a Fund, to be called the Iron Ore Mines1[Manganese Ore Mines and Chrome Ore Mines Labour Welfare]Fund, and there shall be credited thereto-- (a) an amount which the Central Government may, after due appropriation made by Parliament by law in this behalf, provide from and out of the proceeds of duty of customs and duty of excise credited under section 5 of the Iron Ore Mines and Manganese Ore Mines Labour Welfare Cess Act, 1976, after deducting therefrom, the cost of collection as determined by the Central Government under this Act; (b) any income from investment of the amount credited under the Act referred to in clause (a) and any other moneys received by the Central Government for the purposes of this Act. ______________________________ 1. Substituted for "and Manganese Ore Mines Labour Welfare" by the Iron Ore Mines and Manganese Ore Mines Labour Fund (Amendment) Act, 1982, w.e.f. 01- 07-1983.
