Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Tamil Nadu in the Twenty Second Year of the Republic of India as follows: CHAPTER " I PRELIMINARY 1. SHORT, TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT : (1) This Act may be called The Madurai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1971.
