Title: Steps During and After Inquiry

Substituted for the following section by the Protection of Human Rights (Amendment) Act, 2006, w.e.f 23.11.2006. "18. Steps after inquiry.The Commission may take any of the following steps upon the completion of an inquiry held under this Act, namely:-- (1) where the inquiry discloses, the Commission of violation of human rights or negligence in the prevention of violation of human rights by a public servant, it may recommend to the concerned Government or authority the initiation of proceedings for prosecution or such other action as the Commission may deem fit against the concerned person or persons; (2) approach the Supreme Court or the High Court concerned for such directions, orders or writs as the Court may deem necessary; (3) recommend to the concerned Government or authority for the grant of such immediate interim relief to the victim or the members of his family as the Commission may consider necessary; (4) subject to the provisions of clause (5) provide a copy of the inquiry report to the petitioner or his representative; (5) the Commission.....

Title: Steps to Be Taken by Person Selling or Transferring Any Specified Goods

.....to satisfy himself as to the identity of the purchaser or the transferee, as the case may be, and if after an inquiry made by a proper officer, it is found that the purchaser or the transferee, as the case may be, is not either readily traceable or is a fictitious person, it shall be presumed, unless the contrary is proved, that such goods have been illegally exported and the person who had sold or otherwise transferred such goods had been concerned in such illegal export : Provided that nothing in this section shall apply to petty sales of any specified goods if the aggregate market price obtained by such petty sales, made in the course of a day, does not exceed two thousand and five hundred rupees. Explanation.-- In this section petty sale means a sale at a price which does not exceed one thousand rupees.]

Companies Act, 1956 Section 635

Title: Enforcement of Orders of One Court by Other Courts

( 1) Where any order made by one court is required to be enforced by another court, a certified copy of the order shall be produced to the proper officer of the court required to enforce the order. ( 2) The production of such certified copy shall be sufficient evidence of the order. ( 3) Upon the production of such certified copy, the court shall take the requisite steps for enforcing the order, in the same manner as if it had been made by itself. 1[( 4) Where any order made by the2[Company Law Board or Tribunal]3[***] is required to be enforced by a court, a certified copy of the order shall be produced to the proper officer of the court required to enforce the order and the provisions of sub-sections ( 2) and ( 3) shall, as far as may be, apply to every such order in the same manner and to the same extent as they apply to an order made by a court]. _________________________ 1. Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005 Section 15

Title: Steps After Inquiry

State: Central

The Commission may take any of the following steps upon the completion of an inquiry held under this Act, namely :-- (i) where the inquiry discloses, the Commission of violation of child rights of a serious nature or contravention of provisions of any law for the time being in force, it may recommend to the concerned Government or authority the initiation of proceedings for prosecution or such other action as the Commission may deem fit against the concerned person or persons; (ii) approach the Supreme Court or the High Court concerned for such directions, orders or writs as that Court may deem necessary; (iii) recommend to the concerned Government or authority for the grant of such interim relief to the victim or the members of his family as the Commission may consider necessary.

Coal Mines Conservation and Development Act 1974 Section 5

Title: Duty of Owner to Take Steps for the Conservation and Development of Coal Mine

(1) The owner of a coal mine shall take, in relation to each coal mine owner by him, such steps as may be necessary to ensure the conservation of coal and development of the coal mine. (2) Without prejudice to the generality of the provisions of sub-section (1), the owner of a coal mine shall-- (a) execute such stowing and other operations as may be necessary to be taken in furtherance of the objects of this Act in so far as such objects relate to the conservation of coal or development of the coal mine or the utilisation of coal obtained from the coal mine; (b) acquire such stowing and other materials as may be necessary for ensuring the conservation of coal, and safety in, the coal mine; (c) undertake research in relation to conservation of coal, development of coal mines and utilisation of coal; (d) plan and undertake development of the coal mines in a scientific manner; (e) undertake such other activity as the Central Government may, for the furtherance of the objects of this Act, direct.

Railways Act, 1989 Section 156

Title: Travelling on Roof, Step or Engine of a Train

If any passenger or any other person, after being warned by a railway servant to desist, persists in travelling on the roof, step or footboard of any carriage or on an engine, or in any other part of a train not intended for the use of passengers, he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, or with both and may be removed from the railway by any railway servant.

Title: Owner or Occupier to Take Steps to Prevent Spread of Infectious Disease

In the event of a municipality, or any part thereof, being visited with an outbreak of cholera or other infectious disease notified in this behalf, the owner or occupier may during the continuance of the epidemic, without notice and at any time, inspect and disinfect any well, tank or other place from which water, is or is likely to be taken for the purpose of drinking and may further take such step as he deems fit to prevent the removal of water therefrom.

Title: Chairperson to Take Steps for Repairing or Enclosing Dangerous Places

(1) If any place is, in the opinion of the Chairperson, for want of sufficient repair or protection or enclosure, or owing to some work being carried on thereupon, dangerous or causing inconvenience to passengers along a street or to other persons including the owner or occupier of the said place, who have legal access thereto or to the neighbourhood thereof, the Chairperson may by notice in writing require the owner or occupier of such place to repair, protect or enclose the same or take such other step as shall appear to the Chairperson necessary in order to prevent the danger or inconvenience arising therefrom. (2) The Chairperson may before giving any such notice or before the period of any such notice has expired, take such temporary measures as he thinks fit to prevent the danger or inconvenience arising therefrom; and any expense incurred by the Chairperson in taking such temporary measures shall be recoverable from the owner or occupier of the place as an arrear of tax under this Act,

Title: Trial for More Than One Offence

(2) When a person charged with one or more offences of criminal breach of trust or dishonest misappropriation of properly as provided in sub-section (2) of section 212 or in sub-section (1) of section 219, is accused of committing, for the purpose of facilitating or concealing the commission of that offence or those offences, one or more offences of falsification of accounts, he may be charged with, and tried at one trial for, every such offence. (3) If the acts alleged constitute an offence falling within two or more separate definitions of any law in force for the time being by which offences are defined or punished, the person accused of them may be charged with, and tried at one trial for, each of such offences. (4) If several acts, of which one or more than one would by itself or themselves constitute an offence, constitute when combined a different offence, the person accused of them may be charged with, and tried at one trial for the offence constituted by such acts when combined, and for any offence constituted by any one, or more, or such acts. (5) Nothing contained in this section shall affect section 71 of the Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860). .....

Title: Issue of Special Bank Notes and Special One Rupee Notes in Certain Cases

(5) The special one rupee note shall be deemed to be included in the expression "rupee coin" for all the purposes of this Act except section 39, but shall be deemed not to be a currency note for any of the purposes of this Act. (6) Where a special bank note is on its face expressed to be payable at a specified office or branch of the Bank, the obligation imposed by section 39 shall be only on the specified "office or branch and, further, shall be subject to such regulations as may be made under this section. (7) The Bank may, with the previous sanction of the Central Government, make regulations to provide for all matters for which provision is necessary or convenient for the purpose of giving effect to the provisions of this section, and, in particular, the manner in which, and the conditions or limitations subject to which- (i) bank notes and one rupee notes in circulation in any country outside India may be replaced by special notes issued under this section; (ii) any such special notes may be exchanged for any other bank notes or one rupee notes.] ________________________ 1.
