THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FASHION TECHNOLOGY ACT, 2006 [Act, No. 28 Of 2006] [13 th July, 2006] PREAMBLE AN ACT to establish and incorporate the National Institute of Fashion Technology for the promotion and development of education and research in fashion technology and for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:--

Title: Preliminary

Title: Establishment of the Institute

(4) The term of office of the Chairperson and other members of the Board other than ex officio members thereof shall be three years and they shall be entitled for such allowances as may be determined by the Central Government. (5) The term of office of members of the Board nominated to fill a casual vacancy shall continue for the remainder of the term of the member in whose place he has been nominated. (6) The Board shall meet at least four times in a year at such place and time and observe such rules of procedure in regard to the transaction of business at its meetings as may be determined by the Board. (7) It is hereby declared that the office of member of the Board of Governors shall not disqualify its holder for being chosen as, or for being, a member of either House of Parliament.

Title: Rectification of the Register of Members of the Old Company

.....to the provisions of sub-section (1), every person who had acquired a document, purporting to be a share, bona fide for value without notice of the fact that it did not represent any contribution to the capital of the old company, shall be entitled to claim reimbursement from the person from whom such document was acquired by him, and, the period of limitation for any action for such reimbursement shall be deemed, to commence on the date on which the document held by him as a share stands cancelled under section 15. Title: Duty of Custodian to Reconstruct Register of Members of the Old Company

.....Custodian or the new company for any damage caused or likely to be caused by anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done under this Act.
