IV-B, p. 2713) In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 4 of the Bombay Animal Contagious Diseases (Control) Act, 1948 (Bom. LIX of 1948), the Government of Bombay is pleased to appoint all Stockmen in the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science Department of the Bombay State to be the Inspectors for all the purposes of the said Act and for the areas within their respective jurisdictions within which they shall exercise the powers and perform the duties of an Inspector under the said Act. Further, the legal proceedings instituted by the Central Bureau of Investigation against the previous management for irregularities and financial improprieties are still pending in Courts in Pondicherry and Orissa. As earnest efforts are being made to place the management on a sound footing and the progress registered during the last three years needs to be further consolidated, it is proposed to amend the proviso to sub-section (1) of section 3of the Act so as to extend the period for which the management may continue to vest in the Central Government for a further period of two years. 2.
