THE KERALA IRRIGATION AND WATER CONSERVATION ACT, 2003 [1] ACT 31 OF 2003 THE KERALA IRRIGATION AND WATER CONSERVATION ACT, 2003 [1] An Act to consolidate and amend the laws relating to construction of irrigation works, conservation and distribution of water for the purpose of irrigation and levy of betterment contribution and water cess on lands benefited by irrigation works in the State of Kerala and to provide for involvement of farmers in water utilisation system and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. WHEREAS the Meeting to Launch the Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons 1993-----2002 convened by the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific held at Beijing on 1st to 5th December, 1992, adopted the Proclamation on the Full participation and Equality of people with Disabilities in the Asian and Pacific Region; AND WHEREAS India is a signatory to the said Proclamation; AND WHEREAS it is considered necessary to implement to Proclamation aforesaid. THE KERALA GROUND WATER (CONTROL AND REGULATION) ACT, 2002 [1] ACT 19 OF 2002 THE KERALA GROUND WATER (CONTROL AND REGULATION) ACT, 2002 [1] AN ACT to provide for the conservation of ground water and for the regulation and control of its extraction and use in the State of Kerala. Preamble:--WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the conservation of Ground Water and for the regulation and control of its extraction and use in the State of Kerala; AND WHEREAS in certain areas of the State the tendency of indiscriminate extraction of Ground Water is continuing; AND WHEREAS it is felt that the erratic extraction of ground water is found to result in undesired environmental problems in such areas: AND WHEREAS the ground water is a critical resource of the State; AND WHEREAS it is considered necessary in the public interest to regulate and control any form of development of ground water in the State of Kerala; BE it enacted in the Fifty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows: - 1. Preamble.-- WHEREAS, it is expedient specifically to provide for the effective prevention and control of certain kind of anti-social activities in the State of Kerala; BE it enacted in the Fifty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title and commencement.-- (1) This Act may be called the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention)Act, 2007. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 13th day of December, 2006. 2. THE KERALA GROUND WATER (CONTROL AND REGULATION) AMENDMENT ACT, 2005 [1] THE KERALA GROUND WATER (CONTROL AND REGULATION) AMENDMENT ACT, 2005 [1] (ACT 22 OF 2005) An Act to amend the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002 Preamble.-WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002, for the purposes hereinafter appearing; BE it enacted in the Fifty-sixth year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1.Short title and commencement.-This Act may be called the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Amendment Act, 2005. (2) It shall come into force at once. 2.Amendment of section 9.-In the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002 (19 of 2002), for sub section (1) of section 9, the following sub-section shall be substituted namely:- "(1) Every user of ground water in the State shall, within such time as may be notified by the Government in this behalf, apply to the Authority for registration as a user of ground water and for the grant of a certificate of registration.".
