Title: Commissions for Scientific Investigation, Performance of Ministerial Act and Sale of Movable Property

Provincial Small Cause Courts Act, 1887 Section 14

Title: Duties of Ministerial Officers

(1) The ministerial officers of a Court of Small Causes shall, in addition to any duties mentioned in this Act, or in any other enactment for the time being in force, as duties which are or may be imposed on any of them, discharge such duties of a ministerial nature as the Judge directs. (2) The High Court may make rules consistent with this Act, and with any other enactment for the time being in force, conferring and imposing on the ministerial officers of a Court of Small Causes such powers and duties as it thinks fit, and regulating the mode in which powers and duties so conferred and imposed are to be exercised and performed.

Title: Duties of Ministerial Officers

(1) The ministerial officers of a Court of Small Causes shall, in addition to any duties mentioned in this Act, or in any other law for the time being in force, as duties which are or may be imposed on any of them, discharge such duties of a ministerial nature as the Judge directs. Title: Misconduct of Inferior Ministerial Officers

.....the Court may inquire into such charge, and may make such order for the repayment or payment of any money so extorted, or of any money so levied as aforesaid, and of damages and costs, by such officer, as it thinks fit. Section 81 - Court empowered to summon witnesses, etc For the purposes of any inquiry under this Chapter, the Small Cause Court shall have all the powers or summoning and enforcing the attendance of witnesses and compelling the production of documents which it possesses in suits under this Act. Section 82 - Enforcement of order Any order under this Chapter for the payment or repayment of money may, in default of payment of the amount payable thereunder, be enforced by the person to whom such amount is payable as if the same were a decree of the Small Cause Court in his favour.

Provincial Small Cause Courts Act, 1887 Section 22

Title: Adjournment of Cases by Chief Ministerial Officer

When the Judge of a Court of Small Causes is absent and an Additional Judge has not been appointed or, having been appointed, is also absent, the Registrar or other chief ministerial officer of the Court may exercise from time to time the power which the Court possesses of adjourning the hearing of any suit or other proceeding, and fix a day for the further hearing thereof.

Title: Appointment of Non-teaching, Ministerial and Other Staff

.....to the direct recruitment vacancies arranging the names in the order of merit being determined on the basis of the percentage of marks obtained by them in the qualifying examinations and the marks awarded in the interview. (4) While preparing the select list under sub-section (3), the Board shall follow the rules or orders issued by the State Government from time to time in the matter of reservation of appointments or posts for persons belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, under Article 16(4) of the Constitution. (5) All appointments shall be made by the Syndicate by operating the select list prepared by the Board in the order of merit in which the names have been arranged. If any difference arises between the Board and the Syndicate, the matter shall be referred to the Chancellor, through the State Government in the Department of Education. The decision of the Chancellor upon such reference shall be final. (6) The quorum for the meeting shall be four.

.....of the posts as according to the Statutes are to be filled by direct recruitment shall be filled from among persons selected by the Board in the order in which their names are arranged in the list prepared by the Board. Appointment to posts by promotion, deputation or transfer or on contract as may be prescribed in the Statute in respect of any category of posts shall be made after consulting the Board. (5) While preparing the list of candidates selected for appointment to the direct recruitment vacancies, the Board shall comply with the orders issued by the Government from time to time for reservation of posts for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes and other Backward Classes. (6) All appointments shall be made by the Syndicate in the case of difference between the Board and the Syndicate, the matter shall be referred to the Chancellor, whose decision shall be final: Provided that appointments to post the maximum of the scale of pay of which does not exceed rupees two thousand and twenty four shall be made by the Vice-Chancellor. (7) Notwithstanding anything in the preceding sub-sections appointments to posts in the University equivalent to Group 'C' and 'D'.....
