Cantonments (House-accommodation) Act, 1923 Section 14

Title: Provision Where House is Held on Long Lease by a Tenant

.....[Central Government] shall be liable as aforesaid for the term of six months from the date on which the house is vacated in pursuance of the notice. (3) Nothing in this section shall be deemed- (a) to render 1 [Central Government] so liable unless an application in writing in this behalf is made by the owner to the 2 [Officer Commanding the station] within fifteen days from the service of the notice; or (b) to limit or otherwise affect any agreement between 3 [the Government] and the owner. _______________________ 1. .....in the District shall, during the period it is adjourned for2[any] vacation, be deemed to be closed for the purposes of section 4 of the Limitation Act, 1963 (Central Act 36 of 1963). Title: Combining Leave with Vacation

A Judge may be permitted to combine vacation on full salary with leave, if-- (a) where the vacation consists of one continuous period, the leave is taken either at the commencement or at the end of the vacation but not at both; (b) where the vacation is divided into two separate periods, the leave is taken for the interval, or part of the interval, between the two periods of that vacation, or for the interval, or part of the interval, between the second period of that vacation and the commencement of the next ensuing vacation : Provided that no such permission to combine vacation with leave shall be granted if it becomes necessary to appoint an acting Chief Justice during the period of vacation or if the Judge is not expected to return to duty at the end of such leave.

Title: Vacating of Office

(1) Any member other than an ex-officio member of any authority or body of the University may resign his office by a letter addressed to the Registrar and the resignation shall take effect on receipt of the letter by the Registrar. (2) A person who is a member of any authority or body of the University in his capacity as a member of a particular authority or body or as the holder of a particular appointment shall hold office so long only as he continues to be a member of that particular authority or body or the holder of that particular appointment, as the case may be. (3) A member of any authority or body of the University shall cease to be a member on his being convicted by a court of law for any offence which involves moral turpitude.

Title: Tax on Long-term Capital Gains

.....the purposes of this sub-section, (a) listed securities means the securities -- (i) as defined in clause (h) of section 2 of the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956 (32 of 1956) ; and (ii) listed in any recognised stock exchange in India ; (b) unit shall have the meaning assigned to it in clause (b) of Explanation to section 115AB.] (2) Where the gross total income of an assessee includes any income arising from the transfer of a long-term capital asset, the gross total income shall be reduced by the amount of such income and the deduction under Chapter VIA shall be allowed as if the gross total income as so reduced were the gross total income of the assessee. (3) Where the total income of an assessee includes any income arising from the transfer of a long-term capital asset, the total income shall be reduced by the amount of such income and the rebate under section 88 shall be allowed from the income-tax on the total income as so reduced. _____________________ 1. Title: Capital Gain on Transfer of Long-term Capital Assets Not to Be Charged in Certain Cases

.....any part of the capital gain received or accrued as a result of transfer of the original asset in any long-term specified asset and such assessee takes any loan or advance on the security of such specified asset, he shall be deemed to have converted (otherwise than by transfer) such specified asset into money on the date on which such loan or advance is taken. (3) Where the cost of the long-term specified asset has been taken into account for the purposes of clause (a) or clause (b) of sub-section (1), a deduction from the amount of income-tax with reference to such cost shall not be allowed under section 88. __________________ 1. High Court Act, 1961 Section 12

Title: Vacation Judge

Year: 1961

(1) For the hearing of all matters, which require to be immediately or promptly dealt with during a vacation or adjournment of the High Court, the Chief Justice shall nominate a Judge of the High Court as vacation Judge, and such Judge shall during the vacation, exercise all the jurisdiction vested in the High Court, except in cases in which such jurisdiction must be exercised, under the provision of any law for the time being in force, by more than one Judge. Different single Judges may be appointed for different periods of a vacation or adjournment. (2) It shall be competent for the Chief Justice during any vacation or adjournment of the High Court to constitute a Bench of Judges or a Full Bench for the hearing of any case.

Unit Trust of India (Transfer of Undertaking and Repeal) Act,2002 Section 8

Title: Administrator to Vacate Office

(1) The Administrator shall, immediately on redemption of all the schemes of the specified undertaking and the payment of entire amount to investors, shall vacate his office; but nothing in this sub-section shall be construed as prohibiting his appointment as a member of the Board of Advisers after vacation of his office as such. (2) On the vacation of his office, the Administrator shall forthwith deliver, to the Central Government or any institution or officer specified by it, possession of all assets and properties representing and relatable to the specified undertaking which are in his possession, custody and control on the date immediately preceding the date on which he vacates his office as the Administrator.
