Banking Regulation Act, 1949 Section 45D

Title: Settlement of List of Debtors

.....Court shall, wherever necessary, cause notices to be issued on all persons affected and after making an inquiry in such manner as may be provided by rules made under section 45U, it shall make an order settling the list of debtors: Provided that nothing in this section shall debar the High Court from settling any such list in part as against such of the persons whose debts have been settled without settling the debts of all the persons placed on the list. (4) At the time of the settlement of any such list, the High Court shall pass an order for the payment of the amount due by each debtor and make such further orders as may be necessary in respect of the relief claimed, including reliefs against any guarantor or in respect of the realisation of any security. (5) Every such order shall, subject to the provisions for appeal, be final and binding for all purposes as between the banking company on the one hand and the person against whom the order is passed all persons claiming through or under him on the other hand, and shall be deemed to be a decree in a suit. (6) In respect of every such order, the High Court shall issue a certificate specifying clearly the reliefs granted.....

Title: Power to Frame and Publish Lists of Touts

.....own Court and the Courts, if any, subordinate thereto) may frame and publish lists of persons proved to their or his satisfaction,2[or to the satisfaction of any subordinate Court as provided in sub-section (2A)] by evidence of general repute or otherwise, habitually to act as touts, and may, from time to time, alter and amend such lists. 2[Explanation.-- The passing of a resolution, declaring any person to be or not to be a tout, by a majority of the members present at a meeting, specially convened for the purpose, of an association of persons entitled to practise as legal practitioners in any Court or revenue-office, shall be evidence of the general repute of such person for the purposes of this sub-section.] (2) No person's name shall be included in any such list until he shall have had an opportunity of showing cause against such inclusion. 2[(2A) Any authority empowered under sub-section (1) to frame and publish a list of touts may send to any Court subordinate to such authority the names of any persons alleged or suspected to be touts, and order that Court to hold an inquiry in regard to such persons; and the subordinate Court shall thereupon hold an inquiry into.....

New Delhi Municipal Council Act 1994 Section 70

Title: Assessment List

(1) Save as otherwise provided in this Act, the Council shall cause an assessment list of all lands and buildings in New Delhi to be prepared in such form and manner and containing such particulars with respect to each land and building as may be prescribed by bye-laws. (2) When the assessment list has been prepared the Chairperson shall give public notice thereof and of the place where the list or a copy thereof may be inspected, and every person claiming to the owner, lessee or occupier of any land or building included in the list and any authorised agent of such person, shall be at liberty to inspect the list and to take extracts therefrom free of charge. (3) The Chairperson shall, at the same time, give public notice of a date, not less than one month thereafter, when he will proceed to consider the rateable values of lands and buildings entered in the assessment list; and in all cases in which any land or building is for the first time assessed, or the rateable value of any land or building is increased, he shall also give written notice thereof to the owner or to any lessee or occupier of the land or building. Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 Section 106

Title: Procedure for Revising Assessment List

.....as may thereafter be made therein, under the provisions of section 107, and (b) to the result of any appeal made under section 150, the entries in the list so authenticated and deposited shall be accepted as conclusive evidence, -- (i) for the purposes of all municipal taxes of the annual rateable value or other valuation of all buildings and lands to which such entries respectively refer, and (ii) for the purposes of any tax imposed on buildings or lands of the amount of each such tax leviable thereon throughout the official year to which such list relates. _______________________________ 1. (1) Any person interested, may submit his representations, objections or suggestions in writing in respect of anything contained in or relating to the list, to the Government, within the time specified in the publication of the list under sub-section (2) of section 3. (2) The Government may, after considering the representations, objections and suggestions, if any, and making such inquiry as it thinks fit, approve the list with or without modifications. (3) The order of the Government approving the list under sub-section (2) together with the list approved shall be published in the prescribed manner and such publication shall state at which place and time particulars relating to the matter mentioned in the list will be available to the public for inspection.

.....election.] (2) The officer designated by the 1 [State Election Commission] in this behalf in respect of a 1 [municipal area] shall maintain a list of voters for each 1 [ward] of such 1 [municipal area]. Explanation.--For the purpose of this section, "electoral roll" shall mean an electoral roll prepared under the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1950 (Central Act XLIII of 1950), for the time being in force. (3) Every person whose name is in the list of voters referred to in sub-section (1) shall, unless disqualified under any law for the time being in force, be qualified to vote, at the election of a member for the 1 [ward] to which such list pertains. (4) In every 1 [ward], a voter shall have as many votes as there are councillors to be elected from that 1 [ward], but no voter shall at any election give more than one vote to any one candidate. _______________________________ 1. Section 10 - List of voters (1) Subject to the provisions of sub-section (2) the electoral roll of the Zilla Panchayat for the time being in force for such part of the constituency shall be deemed to be the list of voters for such Grama Panchayat constituency. (2) No amendment, transposition or deletion of any entry in the electoral roll of the Zilla Panchayat made after the last date of making nominations for an election in any Grama Panchayat constituency and before the completion of such election shall form part of the list of voters for such election for the purpose of this section. 1[(3) The Tahsildar concerned shall prepare in the prescribed manner, a list of voters for each Grama Panchayat constituency and the Secretary of the Grama Panchayat shall maintain a copy of such list.] ______________________ 1.
