.....have the right toadvise the Executive Council and the Academic Council on any academic matter. (3) On the date determined bythe Visitor under sub-section (3) of section 23, this Statute shall cease tohave effect. 17. Schools of Studies andDepartments (1) The University shall havesuch Schools of studies as may be specified by the Ordinances. (2) Every School shall have aSchool Board. The members of the first school Board shall be nominated by theExecutive Council and shall hold office for a period of three years. (3) The powers and functions ofa School Board shall be prescribed by the Ordinances. (4) The conduct of the meetingsof a School Board and the quorum required for such meetings shall be prescribedby the Ordinances. (5)(a) Each School shallconsist of such Departments as may be assigned to it by the Ordinances, (b) No Department shall beestablished or abolished except by these Statutes: Provided that the ExecutiveCouncil may, on the recommendation of the Academic Council, establish Centres ofStudies to which may be assigned such teachers of the University as theExecutive Council may consider necessary.
