GOVERNMENT OF INDIA ACT, 1915-19 [REPEALED] Section 72D

Title: Business and procedure in governors' leg'slative councils

.....taken by the council in relation to the Bill, clause or amendment, and effect shall be given to any such direction. (6) Provision may be made by rules under this Act for the purpose of carrying into effect the foregoing provisions of this section and for regulating the course of business in the council, and as to the persons to preside over meetings thereof in the absence of the president and deputy-president, and the preservation of order at meetings; and the rules may provide for the numbej of membefs required to constitute a quorum and for prohibiting or required to constitute a quorum and for prohibiting or regulating the asking of questions on and the discussion of any subject specified in the rules. (7) Standing orders may be made providing for the conduct of business and the procedure to be followed in the council, in so far as these matters are not provided for by rules made under this Act. Manipur Municipalities Act, 1994 Section 192

Title: Sale of Materials of Houses Pulled Down

(1) The materials of anything which shall have been pulled down or removed under the provisions of section 183 may be sold by the municipality, and the proceeds of such sale shall be adjusted to the payment of the expenses incurred. (2) The surplus sale proceeds, if any, shall be credited to the Municipal fund, and may be paid on demand to any person who establishes his right to the satisfaction of the municipality or in a court of competent jurisdiction.

Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860) Section 288

Title: Negligent Conduct with Respect to Pulling Down or Repairing Buildings

State: Central

Year: 1860

Whoever, in pulling down or repairing any building, knowingly or negligently omits to lake such order with that building as is sufficient to guard against any probable danger to human life from the fall of that building, or of any part thereof, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.

The Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 Complete Act

.....order passed under sub-section (1) shall be demolished by the owner of the building, wall or platform or that it shall be altered by him to the satisfaction of the Gram Panchayat within such time as may be fixed by him; or (ii) directing that the work done or so much of the same as has been executed in contravention of the order passed under sub-section (1) shall be demolished or altered by the Gram Panchayat at the expense of the owner within such time as may be fixed by him: Provided that the Sub-Divisional Officer shall not make any such order without giving the owner full opportunity of adducing evidence and of being heard.
