Title: Appeals to Supreme Court from judgment, decree, etc., passed or made by Judicial Commissioner's Court

Subject to any rules made under Article 145 or any other law as to the time within which appeals to the Supreme Court are to be entered, an appeal shall lie to that Court from a judgment, decree or final order of the Judicial Commissioner's Court, under the provisions of Article 132 or Article 133, or from a judgment, final order or sentence of such Court under the provisions of Article 134: PROVIDED that an appeal may be preferred within ninety days from the date of passing of this Act from a judgment, decree, final order or sentence passed or made by the Judicial Commissioners Court before that date.

Coast Guard Act, 1978 Chapter XI

Title: Judicial Review of Proceedings of Coast Guard Courts

Section 118 - Consideration by the Director-General (1) On receipt of the report and recommendations, if any, under section 117, the Director-General shall in all cases of sentences of death, and in all cases where the Coast Guard Court is convened by the Central Government, and may, in other cases, transmit the proceedings and the report to the Central Government together with such recommendations as he may deem fit to make. (2) Nothing in section 117 or this section shall authorise the Chief Law Officer or the Director-General to make any recommendation for setting aside, or the Central Government to set aside, an order of acquittal passed under this Act.

Coast Guard Act, 1978 Section 117

Title: Judicial Review by the Chief Law Officer

(1) All proceedings of trials by Coast Guard Courts shall be reviewed by the Chief Law Officer either on his own motion or on application made to him within the prescribed time by any person aggrieved by any sentence or finding, and the Chief Law Officer shall transmit the report of such review together with such recommendations as may appear to him just and proper to the Director-General for his consideration and for such action as the Director-General may think fit, (2) Where any person aggrieved has made an application under sub-section (1) the Chief Law Officer may, if the circumstances of the case so require, give him an opportunity of being heard either in person or through a legal practitioner or an officer of the Coast Guard.

Section 161 - Consideration by the Chief of the Naval Staff (1) On receipt of the report and recommendations if any, under section 160, the Chief of the Naval Staff shall in all cases of capital sentence and in all cases where the court-martial is ordered by the President, and may in other cases transmit the proceedings and the report to the Central Government together with such recommendations as he may deem fit to make. (2) Nothing in section 160 or this section shall authorise the Judge Advocate General of the Navy or the Chief of the Naval Staff to make any recommendation for setting aside, or the Central Government to set aside, an order of acquittal passed under this Act.

JUDICIAL OFFICERS' PROTECTION ACT, 1850 Section 1

Title: Non-liability to suit of officers acting judicially, for official acts done in good faith, and of officers executing warrants and orders

No Judge, Magistrate, Justice of the Peace, Collector or other person acting judicially shall be liable to be sued in any Civil Court for any act done or ordered to be done by him in the discharge of his judicial duty, whether or not within the limits of his jurisdiction: PROVIDED that he at the time in good faith, believed himself to have jurisdiction to do or order the act complained of; and no officer of any Court or other person, bound to execute the lawful warrants or orders of any such Judge, Magistrate, Justice of the Peace, Collector or other person acting judicially shall be liable to be sued in any Civil Court, for the execution of any warrant or order, which he would be bound to execute, if within the jurisdiction of the person issuing the same.
