Title: State Transmission Utility

(1) The State Government shall, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify the State Electricity Board or any Government company as the State Transmission Utility. (2) The functions of the State Transmission Utility shall be to (a) undertake transmission of energy through intra-State transmission system; (b) discharge all functions of planning and co-ordination relating to intra-State transmission system with (i) Central Transmission Utility; (ii) State Governments; (iii) generating companies; (iv) Regional Electricity Boards; (v) Authority; (vi) licensees; (vii) transmission licensees; (viii) any other person notified by the State Government in this behalf. (3) The state Transmission Utility shall exercise supervision and control over the intra-state transmission system. (4) The State Transmission Utility shall comply with and ensure compliance by others in that State of me directions which the Central Transmission Utility may give from time to time in connection with the integrated grid operations and operation of the power system or otherwise in regard to matters which affect the operation of the inter-State transmission system.

.....that rights in relation to the power transmission system of the company which have been transferred to, and vested in, the Corporation under sub-section (2) of section 3 and this sub-section shall include the right to collect transmission charges for transmission of power and any monies collected on or after the appointed "day by the company as transmission charges (whether shown separately or not) shall be payable by the company to the Corporation. (2) Unless otherwise expressly provided by this Act, all deeds, bonds, guarantees (other than gurantees given by the Government of India), agreements, powers of attorney, grants of legal representation and other instruments of whatever nature in relation to the power transmission system of the company, subsisting or having effect immediately before the appointed day, and to which the company is a party or which are in favour of the said company shall be of as full force and effect against or in favour of the Corporation and may be enforced or acted upon as fully and effectually as if in the place of the company, the Corporation had been a party thereto or as if they had been issued in favour of the Corporation. THE NEYVELI LIGNITE CORPORATION LIMITED (ACQUISITION AND TRANSFER OF POWER TRANSMISSION SYSTEM) ACT, 1994 [Act, No. 56 of 1994] [14th September, 1994] PREAMBLE An Act to provide in the public interest for the acquisition and transfer of the power transmission system of the Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited and the right, title and interest of the company in the power transmission system to the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, with a view to developing the National Power Grid to ensure transmission of power, within and across the different regions of India, on a more scientific, efficient and economic basis and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. Title: Acquisition of Rights of Company in Relation to the Power Transmission System

(1) On the appointed day, the power transmission system and the right, title and interest of the company in relation to its power transmission system shall, by virtue of this Act, be deemed to have been transferred to, and vested in, the Central Government. (2) The power transmission system vested in the Central Government by virtue of sub-section (1) shall, immediately after it had so vested, be deemed to have been transferred to, and vested in the Corporation.

(b) to ensure equal pay for equal work irrespective of sex; (c) to ensure suitable conditions of work to such workmen having regard to the fact that they are required to work in a State different from their own State; (d) to provide and maintain suitable residential accommodation to such workmen during the period of their employment; (e) to provide the prescribed medical facilities to the workmen, free of charge; (f) to provide such protective clothing to the workmen as may be prescribed; and (g) in case of fatal accident or serious bodily injury to any such workman, to report to the specified authorities of both the States and also the next of kin of the workman.
