Beit enactedby Parliament in the Fifty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1.Short title and commencement (1)This Act may be called the Consumer Protection (Amendment) Act, 2002. (2)It shall come into force on such date1 as the Central Government may,by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. 2.Amendment of section 2 Inthe Consumer Protection Act, 1986 (68 of 1986) (hereinafter referred to as theprincipal Act), in section 2, in sub-section (1)- (a)in clause (b), after sub-clause (iv), the following sub-clause shall beinserted, namely:-- "(v)in case of death of a consumer, his legal heir or representative;"; (b)in clause (c),-- (i)in sub-clause (i), for the words "any trader", the words "anytrader or service provider" shall be substituted; (ii)for sub-clauses (iv) and (v), the following sub-clauses shall be substituted,namely;-- "(iv)a trader or the service.....

Beit enactedby Parliament in the Fifty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1.Short title and commencement (1)This Act may be called the Consumer Protection (Amendment) Act, 2002.
