Title: Punishment for Incitement to Refuse or to Defer Payment of Land Revenue, Tax, Etc., Due to the State Government

.....Act 11 of 1959); or (b) instigates, directly or indirectly the use of criminal force against public servants generally or any class of public servants or any individual public servant, so as to obstruct in the discharge of their public functions, shall be punished with rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to five years and with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees, but such rigorous imprisonment shall not be less than two years and such fine shall not be less than three thousand rupees. Explanation.--For the purposes of this section 'public servant' shall have the same meaning as in section 21 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (Central Act XLV of 1860).

.....TO DISAFFECTION) (BOMBAY EXTENSION AND AMENDMENT) ACT, 1958 THE POLICE (INCITEMENT TO DISAFFECTION) (BOMBAY EXTENSION AND AMENDMENT) ACT, 1958 ACT No. LXXVII OF 1958 (7th October, 1958) An Act to extend the Police (Incitement to Disaffection) Act, 1922 to the Saurashtra and Hyderabad areas of the State of Bombay WHEREAS the Police (Incitement to Disaffection) Act, 1922, extends to the whole of India except the territories which, immediately before the 1st November, 1956, were comprised in Part B States; AND WHEREAS in the Saurashtra area of the State of Bombay there exists the Police (Incitement to Disaffection) Act, 1922, as modified and applied to that area by the State of Saurashtra (Application of Central and Bombay Acts) Ordinance, 1948 AND WHEREAS in the Hyderabad area of the State there is no corresponding Act; AND WHEREAS it is expedient that the Police (Incitement to Disaffection) Act, 1922, as extending to the rest of the State of Bombay be extended to the Saurashtra and Hyderabad areas of the State and that Act in its application to the whole of the State be further amended for certain purposes hereinafter appearing and in consequence thereof the.....

Act No. 9 of 1981 An Act to prevent incitement to refuse or defer payment of tax and other dues payable to the Government, local authorities, etc. BE it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Thirty-second Year of the Republic of India as follows: 1. Short title and commencement " (1) This Act may be called the TAMIL NADU PREVENTION OF INCITEMENT TO REFUSE OR DEFER PAYMENT OF TAX ACT, 1981. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 10th November 1980. 2. Definitions " In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, " (a) "Government" means the State Government; (b) "Public servant" shall have the same meaning as in section 21 of the Indian Penal Code (Central Act XLV of 1860). 3. Punishment for incitement to refuse or defer payment of land revenue, tax, etc. due to the Government, etc. " Notwithstanding anything contained in any law for the time being in force, who ever by words, either spoken or written or by signs or by visible representations, or.....

.....Disaffection) (Maharashtra Amendment) Act, 1983. (2) It shall he deemed to have come into force on the 18th January, 1983. SECTION 02: AMENDMENT OF SECTION 3 OF ACT XXII OF 1922 Section 3 of the Police (Incitement to Disaffection) Act, 1922, in its application to the State of Maharashtra (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act"); shall be renumbered as sub-section (1) of that section and in sub-section (1) so renumbered, for the portion beginning with the words "shall be punished" and ending with the words "or with both" the following shall be substituted, namely - "shall, on conviction, he punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees, or with both Provided that, in the absence of special and adequate reasons to the contrary to he mentioned in the Judgment of the Court, such imprisonment shall not be less than six months and such fine shall not he less than five hundred rupees." (h) After sub-section (1) of the said section 3, the following sub-section shall he added, namely " "(2) All offences under this Act shall be cognizable and non-bailable." Whoever by words either spoken or written or by sign, or otherwise, incites or attempts to incite a child to make any bet or wager or to enter into or take any share or interest in any betting or wagering transaction or so incites or attempts to incite a child to borrow money or to enter into any transaction involving the borrowing of money shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to one month or with fine which may extend to one hundred rupees or with both.
