Title: Power to Make Orders

.....in the Official Gazette, make such orders as may seem to it expedient form the effective exercise of any [Substituted by the A.O.1950 for "extra-provincial".] [foreign] jurisdiction of the Central Government. (2) Without prejudice to the generality of the powers conferred by sub-section (1), any order made under that sub-section may provide-- (a) for determining the law and procedure to be observed, whether by applying with or without modifications all or any of the provisions of any enactment in force in any State or otherwise; (b) for determining the persons who are to exercise jurisdiction, either generally or in particular cases or classes of cases, and the powers to be exercised by them; (c) for determining the Courts, Judges, Magistrates and authorities by whom, and for regulating the manner in which, any jurisdiction auxillary or incidental to or consequential on the jurisdiction exercised under this Act is to exercised within any State; and (d) for regulating the amount, collection and application of fees.

In this section "undertaking" means any public utility undertaking or any undertaking by way of any trade or business and includes a factory.] NOTES Object.--The Bombay Electricity (Special Powers) Act, 1946 was in force in the pre-Reorganisation State of Bombay, excluding the transferred territories. Similarly the Saurashtra Electricity (Special Powers) Act. 1953 (III of 1953) was in force in the Saurashtra area. But no such enactment existed in any other part of the State. It was therefore considered necessary for the sake of uniformity and administrative convenience to extend the provisions of the Bombay Electricity (Special Powers) Act, 1946, and to repeal the Saurashtra Electricity (Special Powers) Act, 1953. It was also proposed to amend sections 6A and 6B of the principal Act to enable Government to take action in respect of individual consumers for regulating supply and consumption of electrical energy to them and for discontinuing or reducing the supply in case of their default. Title: Acquisition and Transfer of Power Transmission System

.....that rights in relation to the power transmission system of the company which have been transferred to, and vested in, the Corporation under sub-section (2) of section 3 and this sub-section shall include the right to collect transmission charges for transmission of power and any monies collected on or after the appointed "day by the company as transmission charges (whether shown separately or not) shall be payable by the company to the Corporation. Indian Power Alcohol Act, 1948 [Repealed] Section 10

(2) In particular and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing powers, such rules may (a) provide for the licensing of the manufacture of power alcohol; (b) prescribe the specifications and tests in respect of the purity of power alcohol intended for admixture with petrol in order to ensure its suitability for use in motor vehicles; (c) fix the price at which power alcohol may be sold for the purpose of admixture with petrol; (d) provide for imposing and collecting a duty of excise on power alcohol intended for admixture with petrol; (e) prescribe conditions in respect of the transport and storage of power alcohol intended for admixture with petrol and for the manner in which the admixture is to be affected; (f) prescribe the submission by a manufacturer of power alcohol or importer or distributor of petrol of returns regarding the power alcohol and petrol manufactured, purchased, stored or sold, as the case may be; (g) provide for denaturing of power alcohol at the distilleries; (h) provide for any other matter which is to be or may be prescribed under this Act.
