.....( 17-9-1953), a person shall not be disqualified for being chosen as, or for being, member of the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature by reason of the fact that he is enrolled in the National Cadet Corps under this Act. The Act was extended to the erstwhile French Territories in India (now comprising the Union territory of Pondicherry) by the Fresh Establishments (A. of L.) Order, 1954 (w.r.e.f. 1-11-1954). It is now extended to the Union Territories of:- (1) Goa. Daman and Diu, by Regn. 12 of 1962 (19-12-1962). (2) Dadra and Nagar Haveli, by Regn. 6 of 1963; (3) Laccadive, Minicoy and Amindivi Islands, by Regn. 8 of 1965. The Islands are now known as U.T. of Lakshadweep - See Act 34 of 1972. S. 3(1-11-1973). (4) Sikkim - See G.S.R. 208(E) of 1975 (1-3-1976). SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND APPLICATION (1) This Act may be called the National Cadet Corps Act, 1948. (2) It extends, to the whole of India aa [ * * *] and applies to all persons enrolled or appointed under this Act. wherever they may be. SECTION 02: DEFINITIONS In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context, -"corps" means the National Cadet Corps constituted under this Act:" enrolled".....
