Title: Sale of Liquor, Hemp and Intoxicating Drugs Prohibited Without Licence or Pass

.....of any plant other than hemp from which any intoxicating drug is produced, or those portions of the plant from which such intoxicating drug is manufactured or produced, to a person holding a licence under this section for the sale of intoxicating drugs, or to a person duly licensed under this Act to manufacture or to export intoxicating drugs; 7[and (iii) foreign liquor legally procured by any person for his private use and sold by him or on his behalf or on behalf of his representatives in interest upon his quitting a station or after his decease.]] 8[(2) On such conditions as the Commissioner may determine, a licence for sale under the excise law for the time being in force in other parts of British India may be deemed to be a licence granted in that behalf under this Act.] ______________ 1. Title: Power of Collector to Close Places Where Intoxicant or Hemp is Sold in Certain Cases

Power of Collector to close places where intoxicant or hemp is sold in certain cases (1) If the Collector is of opinion that it is in the interest of public peace to close any place in which any intoxicant or hemp is sold, it shall be lawful for the Collector by an order in writing to the persons holding a licence for the sale of such intoxicant or hemp to require him to close such place at such time or for such period as may be specified in the order. (2) If a not or unlawful assembly is imminent, or takes place; it shall be lawful for any Executive Magistrate or Police Officer who is present to direct that such place shall be closed and kept closed for such period as he thinks fit, and in the absence of any Executive Magistrate or Police Officer the person referred to in Sub-section (1) shall himself close such place. Title: Limit of Possession of Excisable Articles and Hemp

1[(1) No person not being a licensed manufacturer or vendor of any excisable article or hemp and no licensed vendor except as authorised by his licence shall have in his possession any quantity of any excisable article or hemp in excess of such limit as Government under section 17 may declare to be the limit of retail sale, except under a permit from the Collector]: Provided that nothing in sub-section (1) shall extend to any foreign liquor, other than denatured spirit, in the possession of any common carrier or warehouseman as such, or purchased by any person for his bona fide private consumption and not for sale. (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1) Government may by notification in the Bombay Government Gazette prohibit the possession by any person or class of persons, either throughout the whole Presidency or in any local area, of any excisable article, either absolutely or subject to such conditions as it may prescribe.] _________________ 1.
