Tamil Nadu Fisheries University Act, 2012 Complete Act

.....report to the Chancellor, the action taken or proposed to be taken on the advice tendered by the Chancellor. (6) If the University does not take action within the time limit fixed or if the action taken by the University is in the opinion of the Chancellor not satisfactory, the Chancellor may, after considering any explanation offered or representation made by the University, issue such direction as they may deem fit and the University shall comply with such direction. (7) If the University does not comply with such direction within such time as may be fixed in that behalf by the Chancellor, the Chancellor shall have power to appoint any person or body to comply with such direction and make such orders as may be necessary for the expenses thereof. Biological Diversity Act, 2002 Section 41

Title: Constitution of Biodiversity Management Committees

.....varieties and cultivars, domesticated stocks and breeds of animals and microorganisms and chronicling of knowledge relating to biological diversity. Explanation.--For the purposes of this sub-section,-- (a) "cultivar" means a variety of plant that has originated and persisted under cultivation or was specifically bred for the purpose of cultivation; (b) "folk variety" means a cultivated variety of plant that was developed, grown and exchanged informally among farmers; (c) "landrace" means primitive cultivar that was grown by ancient farmers and their successors. (2) The National Biodiversity Authority and the State Biodiversity Boards shall consult the Biodiversity Management Committees while taking any decision relating to the use of biological resources and knowledge associated with such resources occurring within the territorial jurisdiction of the Biodiversity Management Committee. (3) The Biodiversity Management Committees may levy charges by way of collection fees from any person for accessing or collecting any biological resource for commercial purposes from areas falling within its territorial jurisdiction.

Kalakshetra Foundation Act, 1993 Chapter III

.....of functions and exercise of powers under this Act, the authorities referred to in sub-section (1) shall be guided by the objects specified in section 9. Section 9 - Inspection (1) The Chancellor shall have the right to cause an inspection or inquiry to be made, by such person or persons as he may direct, of the University, its buildings, University libraries, museums and equipments, and of any institutions maintained or recognised by the University and also of the research, teaching and other work conducted or done by the University, and to cause an inquiry to be made in respect of any matter connected with the University. Kannada University Act, 1991 Schedule 1

.....shall be performed by such person as the Vice Chancellor may appoint for the purpose. (4) (a) The Registrar shall have power to take disciplinary action against such of the employees excluding teachers and the academic staff as may be specified in the orders of the Executive Council and to suspend them pending inquiry, to administer warnings to them or to impose on them penalty of censure or withholding of increments: Provided that no such penalty shall be imposed unless the person concerned has been given a reasonable opportunity of showing cause against the action proposed to be taken in regard to him.
