THE KARNATAKA GROUND WATER (REGULATION FOR PROTECTION OF SOURCES OF DRINKING WATER) ACT, 1999 [Act, No. 44 of 2003]1 [17th October, 2003] PREAMBLE An Act to regulate the exploitation of ground water for the protection of public sources of drinking water and matters connected therewith and incidental thereto. Whereas it is expedient to regulate the exploitation of ground water for the protection of public sources of drinking water and to provide for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto. Be it enacted by the Karnataka State Legislature in the fiftieth year of the Republic of India as follows. ________________________ 1.
