The Orissa Hydroelectric Projects and Flood Control Works (Survey) Act, 1961 Complete Act

.....close of the enquiry, submit the entire record of the proceedings along with his report and recommendations to the State Government for their decision which shall be final: (Inserted by the Orissa Hydro-Electric Projects and Flood control Works (Survey) Amendment Act, 1962 (Or Act 10 of 1962) S. 2.) [Provided that nothing in this section shall apply to any work undertaken for the purpose of mainten ance, repair, raising or strengthening of any flood control work.] 6. Offences. Whoever obstructs any person in the course of carrying on any proceedings under section 3 shall be deemed to have committed an offence under section 45 of i860 of the Indian Penal Code. 7. Power to make rules. The State Government may make rules for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this Act. 8. Power to remove difficulties . If any difficulty arises in giving effect to the provisions of this Act, the State Government may, as the occasion may require, do anything which appears to them necessary for the purpose of removing the difficulty. Title: Master Plan for the Control of Floods, Etc., in the Brahmaputra Valley

(1) Subject to the other provisions of this Act and the rules the Board shall carry out surveys and investigations in the Brahmaputra Valley and prepare a Master Plan for the control of floods and bank erosion and improvement of drainage in the Brahmaputra Valley: Provided that the Board may prepare the Master Plan in parts with reference to different areas of Brahmaputra Valley or with reference to different areas of Brahmaputra Valley or with reference to different matters relating to such areas and may, as often as it considers necessary so to do, revise the Master Plan or any part thereof. (2) In preparing the Master Plan, the Board shall have regard to the Development and utilization of the water resources of the Brahmaputra Valley for irrigation, hydro power, navigation and other beneficial purposes and shall, as far as possible , indicate in such plan the words and other measures which may be undertaken for such development. (3) The Master Plan shall be submitted to the Central Government as soon as may be after it has a been prepared or, as the case may be, revised and the Central Government shall, after consultation with the State Government concerned , approve.....
