Act No.41/2008 TAMIL NADU PANCHAYATS (FIFTH AMENDMENT) ACT, 2008 (Received the Assent of the Governor of Tamil Nadu on May 30, 2008 " Published in Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, Extraordinary, Part IV, Section 2, Iss. No. 170, page 153, dated June 2, 2008.) An Act further to amend the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994. Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:" 1. Short title and commencement." (1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Panchayats (Fifth Amendment) Act, 2008. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint. .....Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Value Added Tax (Fifth Amendment) Act, 2011. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint. 2. " In the Tamil Nadu Value Added Tax Act, 2006 (Tamil Nadu Act 32 of 2006) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in Section 2, after Clause (4), the following Clause shall be inserted, namely:" "(4-A) "Assessment" means an assessment made or deemed to have been made under this Act and includes a re-assessment or revision of assessment;". 3.
