Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976 Section 50

Title: Breaches of Official Duty in Connection with Elections

(1) If any person to whom this section applies is, without reasonable cause, guilty of any act or omission in breach of his official duty, he shall, on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees. (2) No suit or other legal proceedings shall lie against any such person for damages in respect of any such act or omission as aforesaid. (3) The persons to whom this section applies are the returning officer, assistant returning officers, presiding officers, polling officers and any other person appointed to perform any duty in connection with the receipt of nominations or withdrawal of candidature, or the recording or counting of votes at an election; and the expression "official duty" shall, for the purpose of this section, be construed accordingly, but shall not include duties imposed otherwise than by or under this Act in connection with such election.

Maharashtra Irrigation Act, 1976 Complete Act

.....are applicable to the acquisition of such land or the extinguishment of such right or interest. (4) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Act or in the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, within not less than fifteen days (except by private negotiations) after the publication of the declaration under sub-section (2) of the publication of the notification under sub-section (2) of Section 25, the State Government may direct that any land in respect of which a notification has been issued shall be taken possession of by the Canal Officer duly empowered in this behalf by it, and the right and interest in land specified in the notification shall be extinguished from the date specified in the direction and on such possession being taken, the said land shall vest absolutely in the State Government free from all encumbrances: Provided that, before or at the time of taking possession of any land under this sub -section, the Collector shall offer to the person interested compensation for the standing crops, trees and structure, if any, on such land and for any damage sustained by him which is caused by such sudden dispossession, and not excepted in Section 24 of the Land Acquisition.....

The Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976 Complete Act

Act to have over-riding effect .- The provisions of this Act shall have effect notwithstanding anything in consistent therewith contained in any enactment other than this Act, or in any instrument having effect by virtue of any enactment other than this Act. Abolition of bonded labour system. - (1) On the commencement of this Act, the bonded labour system shall stand abolished any every bonded labourer shall, on such commencement, stand freed and discharged from any obligation to render any bonded labour. (2) After the commencement of this Act, no person shall - (a) make any advance under, or in pursuance of, the bonded labour system, or (b) compel any person to render any bonded labour or other form of forced labour. COMMENTS The bonded labour system has been abolished from 25th October, 1975 and every bonded labourer has been set free and has been discharged from any obligation to render any bonded labour from this date.
