Section 68 - Rules of evidence (1) Any statement, intimation or notice recorded or noted in the Register of Firms shall, as against any person by whom or on whose behalf such statement, intimation or notice was signed, be conclusive proof of any fact therein stated. (2) A certified copy of an entry relating to a firm in the Register of Firms may be produced in proof of the fact of the registration of such firm, and of the contents of any statement, intimation or notice recorded or noted therein. Section 69 - Effect of non-registration (1) No suit to enforce a right arising from a contract or conferred by this Act shall be instituted in any court by or on behalf of any person suing as a partner in a firm against the firm or any person alleged to be or to have been a partner in the firm unless the firm is registered and the person suing is or has been shown in the Register of Firms as a partner in the firm. Nothing in the Transfer of Property Act, 1882, contained shall apply or be deemed ever to have applied to any grant or other transfer of land or of any interest therein heretofore made or hereafter to be made { Subs, by the A.O.1937 for " by or on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen Empress, Her heirs or successors, or by or on behalf of the Secretary of State for India in Council."}[by or on behalf of the Government] to, or in favour of, an person whomsoever; but every such grant and transfer shall be construed and take effect as if the said Act had not been passed.

THE VICTORIA MEMORIAL ACT, 1903 [Act, No. 10 of 1903] [20th March, 1903] PREAMBLE An Act to provide for the erection and management of the Victoria Memorial at Calcutta. WHEREAS it is intended to creel at Calcutta a building as a memorial of the life and reign of Her Late Majesty Victoria of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Empress of India, and for this purpose large sums of money have been subscribed by the princes and people of India; AND WHEREAS at a meeting of subscribers held in Calcutta certain persons were appointed a Provisional Executive Committee to take the custody of the said moneys; AND WHEREAS it is expedient to make provision for the erection, maintenance and management of the memorial and for the appointment of a permanent body of Trustees; It is hereby enacted as follows :
