THE KERALA PANCHAYAT RAJ (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1998 ACT 8 OF 1998 THE KERALA PANCHAYAT RAJ (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1998 An Act further to amend the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 Preamble.--WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, for the purposes hereinafter appearing; BE it enacted in the Forty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1. Short title and commencement.--(1) This Act may be called the Kerala Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Act, 1998. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 10th day of November, 1997 2. Amendment of the Third Schedule.--In the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (13 of 1994) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in the Third Schedule, under the heading "13 Social Welfare", after item (h), the following items shall be inserted, namely:-- (i) distribution of the Social Security Pensions. (j) distribution of unemployment dole, Agricultural Workers' Pension". 3. Amendment of the Fifth Schedule.--In the principal Act, in the Fifth Schedule,-- (1) under the heading "12. Social Welfare", item (a) shall be omitted; (2) under the heading "16. Labour",.....
