Whoever, in disobedience of any order of the municipal council under section 233 or of any bye-law, bathes in any stream, pool, tank, reservoir, well, cistern, conduit and aqueduct belonging to the municipal council, or washes, or causes to be washed therein any animal or anything whatever, or throws, puts or casts or causes to enter therein any animal or anything, or causes or suffers to run, drain, or be brought there into anything that is, or may become, a nuisance or does anything whatsoever whereby any water therein shall be in any degree fouled or corrupted, and whoever, without permission of the municipal council, steeps in any tank, stream, or ditch within or on the boundary of the1[municipal area], any animal, vegetable or mineral matter likely to render the water of such tank, stream or ditch offensive or a nuisance, shall be punished with fine which may extend to fifty rupees. _______________________________ 1.
