THE CONSTITUTION (SCHEDULED CASTES) ORDERS (SECOND AMENDMENT) ACT, 2002 [Act, No. 61 of 2002] [17th December, 2002] PREAMBLE An Act further to amend the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order, 1950, the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) (Union Territories) Order, 1951, the Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Castes Order, 1956, the Constitution (Dadra and Nagar Haveli) Scheduled Castes Order, 1962 and the Constitution (Pondicherry) Scheduled Castes Order, 1964. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1. Short title This Act may be called the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Orders (Second Amendment) Act, 2002. 2. Amendment of Scheduled Castes Orders (1) The Schedule to the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order, 1950 is hereby amended in the manner and to the extent specified in Schedule I. (2) The Schedule to the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) (Union Territories) Order, 1951 is hereby amended in the manner and to the extent specified in Schedule II. (3) The Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Castes Order, 1956 is hereby amended in the manner and to the extent specified in Schedule III. (4).....

SECTION 11: PROVISION AS TO SITTING MEMBERS (1) Every sitting member of the House of the People representing a constituency which, on the appointed day by virtue of the provisions of Section 10, stands allotted, with or without alteration of boundaries, to the successor States of MadhyaPradesh or Chhattisgarh, shall be deemed to have been elected to the House of the People by that constituency as so allotted. (2) The term of office of such sitting members shall remain unaltered. SECTION 12: PROVISIONS AS TO LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLIES (1) The number of seats as on the appointed day in the Legislative Assemblies of the States of Madhya Pradeshand Chhattisgarh shall be two hundred and thirty and ninety respectively.
